Leap Frog

Actually, there are no frogs involved!  This is a Lili of the Valley stamp called "Leap Frog".  Such a great spring image!  This could actually be the bunny family living in our backyard.  I hope they just play leap frog and stay away from my new plants!
I used my Silhouette to cut out the sentiment.  The papers are We R Memories Anthologie.  The circles were cut out from one of the papers in that pad.  The Lili of the Valley stamp was stamped once on the patterned paper, and once on white card stock.  I colored the bunnies with Copics, cut them out, and ran them through my Xyron sticker maker and adhered them to the card.  I used Ranger Distress ink Gathered Twigs and cotton craft thread from Hobby Lobby.

Stormy Weather

And now it's time for a bright and cheerful card!  Okay, no, that was my last post.  This one is, well, pensive, I guess.

Unfortunately the weather outside reflects this card, so the picture is a little darker than I'd like.  I made a cloud mask by welding several clouds together on my silhouette.  I used Ranger Distress Ink Black Soot and Old Paper for the clouds.  The background paper is Bazzill.  I white embossed the "root" of the flower with two stamps from the Inkadinkado Dot Flourishes set, then added gems from Michaels.  I printed out the sentiment on Word and free cut the flower.

Gerbera Daisy

I put together a card using my favorite flower, gerbera daisies.  I made this flower by cutting 3 - 3" flowers and 6 - 1 1/2" flowers on my Silhouette.  I bent each pedal in the middle.  I wet down some thinner green paper to cover a brad and cut two circles in green a little bigger than that brad and just snipped them up with a scissors.  Now I want to make more, gerbera daisies come in so many wonderful color combinations!
The wood grain paper is from Cloud 9 Design - weathered wood, soft ivory.  The green background is WeR Memory Keepers Anthologie collection.  I embossed the sentiment with Stampendous Pearlutre jade embossing powder.  The green and pink cardstock are from my stash.

We OWL look up to you!

I made a card today for the principal at our school.  She is retiring, and we will miss her!  I won this fun stamp set from Katie Koenig's blog and it's perfect for the occasion.  The stamp set is MoreOwls2Love from The Stamps of Life.  I was so pleased with the quality of the stamps.

I welded a label design with the scroll tree design on my Silhouette and cut it once in the pumpkin color, and once in white.  I flipped the white one.  I cut the inside of the label in white, stamped the owls, and then paper pieced them.  I paper pieced their eyes to look up at the principal owl.  I wrote out the sentiment with a brown Zig Writer marker.  The burgundy paper is from Sanylion, the Blue is from DCWV Pocket Full of Posies, the coral is from My Mind's Eye.  I had a mortar board with tassel on the large owl, but that really didn't look like our principal so I gave her some pearls - she's quite stylish!  The ribbon and pearls are from my stash.

Sidetracked!

Since I saw the "Virginia's View Challenge" at Lily Pad Cards the other day, I couldn't get this card idea out of my head!  Stayed up WAY too late putting it together.  Poppies always make me think of The Wizard of Oz!  Here's my "quirky" take on the challenge:

"Dorothy" is from a Close To My Heart set called "Uptown Girl".   I altered her, obviously, because typically she's upright and walking a dog!  The castle stamp came from a children's stamp set that my daughter got for her birthday one year (sorry, no info printed on it that I could find).  Dorothy and the castle are both sporting a bit of Copic coloring and Crayola Glitter Glue.  Dorothy's skirt is paper pieced from Making Memories Twine Plaid, Ice Blue, Watercolor Collection.  The rest of the card stock were from my stash.  I cut the hills and brick and shaded them and the background with Ranger Distress Ink.  The poppies were cut out with a TINY hole punch and sent through the Xyron Create-a-Sticker.  I printed the sentiment off Word onto the yellow first, and then cut that out.  The bricks I drew with a black Zig Writer marker.  The little bits of ribbon on her braids was cotton craft thread from my stash.

A Bright Birthday

I worked on a second card for The Play Date Cafe today.  This one was really out of my comfort zone as it is a one layer card.  When I put all those pink and orange card making mediums in front of me (ink, flock, ribbon, glitter, paper, markers, etc.) it was difficult to know which way to go.  This isn't the path I thought I'd take, but it's where I ended up!  Hope you like it.

The stamps are Hot Off the Press "Magical Birthday" and Close to My Heart "It's Your Birthday".  I embossed the cake and sentiment in white and used the ever popular Ranger Distress Inks in ripe persimmon and worn lipstick.  The cake was "decorated" with crayola glitter glue and pink puff paint.  The ribbons are from my stash.

Be Transformed!

I made a card today for a friend who needs to hear the Truth!  So often we have little voices in our minds telling us everything we do is wrong.  Sometimes those voices aren't just in our head, but coming out of other's mouths!  The Truth is there is only One voice we need to listen to for approval and acceptance.  That voice is Jesus'!  Roman's 12:2 says, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will."  We need to transform by renewing our minds with HIS truths about us - He created, loves, and knows us.  He has a plan for us and we don't have to be perfect.  Hope you like the card today:

I cut the butterfly with my Silhouette and cut the curvy strips with a Creative Memories cutting tool I've had for ten years now.  The gems are from Michaels and I colored them with Copics.
