You're Loads of Fun!

My parents both lived in Rhinelander, WI when they started dating and they would meet at a laundromat called the Rhinelaunder.  My brother and I thought that was a lame place to hang out on a date, but the name was clever!  If Dad was still on this Earth today, I would give him this to give to my Mom.

This card is entered in the Paper Smooches SPARKS Picture Perfect Challenge
And here's the inspiration picture:
I loved working with patterns that I thought reflected the colors and pattern of the couch.  Some of them were older scraps, but I put the newer ones on the InLinkz.  The card is long and narrow (4"x8 1/2") to match the length and height of the couch.  The repetition of squares are represented by the repetition of the squarish washing machines.

Speaking of repetition...
This card is also entered in the Moxi Fab World: Card Design Handbook Week:  The Repetition Challenge

Thanks so much for coming over!  I hope you're having loads of fun, whatever you're up to today.
Kara Lynne

  4. So is it crazy that I actually know where Rhinelander is and have been there a time or two (or more?)? Your card is so fun, the elongated shape really allows for such creativity.

  28. Hahaha, what a funny card, Kara! I wish my washing machine could look like one of these beauties! Love your laundry basket and detergent on top. Now, if this was like my laundry room, you would also need to add sweaty socks, grass-stained baseball pants, and mildewy swim trunks. Well, maybe those are better left off the card ... unless it's a scary Halloween one : )
