The Twelve Kits of Occasions: September Edition

It's the final day of September which means it's time to share our cards from Kim's wonderful kit "Food and Friends" over at the Twelve Kits of Occasions!

This little Pop Tart by Lawn Fawn is so cute!  I added a face, arms and legs from LF's Sweet Friends stamp set, and clear Nuvo Drops to make her shine.
This toast and avocado were another fun twosome!
I love this sentiment that Kim included in the kit:
Okay, strange photo of my shaker, I know, but I added a lot of sequins so the recipient would have to shake it around to read the important sentiment.  I did not create that inky paper, that is from Brutus Monroe.

Thank you, Kim, for this kit full of food and fun!  I enjoyed every bit of it!  Please stop by the Twelve Kits of Occasions blog to see the wonderful card creations designed by the talented team!

Kim's supply list can be found over at the Twelve Kits of Occasions blog.
Extra Products I used:
Stamps:  LF Sweet Friends (pop tart face, arms, and legs)

I'm Just a Phone Call Away - Video

These two are an ocean away...
but a telephone call can make them feel this close:
I created this one-layer, clean and simple card using a Z fold technique.  The images were stamped with Archival Jet Black ink, colored with Inktense pencils, and then brushed with a damp round water color brush (sizes 2 and 4).  You can see the process I used to fold, stamp and color the images on the video.  You can watch it here, on SugarPea Designs' YouTube channel, or my YouTube Channel:

Stamptember with SugarPea Designs

Today, Simon Says Stamp is collaborating with SugarPea Designs by introducing Nordic Village and coordinating dies.  There are so many possibilities with this set!  I chose to create a bright, snowy little village in hopes for a bright and happy winter to come:

The background was ink blended with Distress Inks and splattered with white acrylic paint.  The village houses were stamped in VersaMark and heat embossed in white.  Once they were die cut and assembled together, I used Zig Markers to color them in, and then lightly splattered over them with the same Zig colors.  Once they were dry, I colored the trees with a BG72 Copic Marker.  The sentiment is from the same set, stamped in Distress Ink Picked Raspberry.  A white panel and the ink blended panel were die cut with Zig Zag Stitched rectangles.  The snowy hill was created with a die from the Card Front Element Builder, and then cut with the Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle.

SugarPea Designs/SSS Supplies:
Nordic Village and Coordinating Dies, Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles, Card Front Element Builder
Other Supplies:
Ink:  Distress Ink Picked Raspberry, Ripe Persimmon, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, VersaMark
Zigs: Pink, Dark Pink, Orange, Yellow, Copic BG72
Ranger Adirondack Snow Cap acrylic paint, Simon Says Stamp fine detail white embossing powder

SugarPea Designs September Mix It Up Challenge

We're playing with a beautiful color palette and sketch this month over at SugarPea Designs' Mix It up Challenge #59!  I chose to use both options:
The flowers were stamped around the center of a white card stock panel.  I cut a practice heart out of printer paper to make sure the flowers stamped in a pleasing position all around.  The bottom portion of the card stock was fussy cut away in order to add the striped paper.  The navy heart, word die cut, and banner were layered on top.  The second part of the sentiment was heat embossed in white.  The flowers and part of the word die were colored with Copic markers.

I hope you will play along with us this month!  For more inspiration and all the details, please head on over to the SugarPea Designs blog.

What little family lives in this tiny dwelling?  More to the point, how do they have electricity?  Do they have plumbing?  How about cable?

SugarPea Designs September Release Day 5

Today is the fifth and final day of SugarPea Designs' new release.  I hope you enjoyed the week and found some inspiration during the hop!  Today we are featuring the new Floral Pocket Tag and Christmas Character SugarCuts.  This little snowwoman, and all the Christmas characters are so fun to make:
I used Copic markers to shade the die cuts and give texture to her hat, carrot, sticks, and scarf.  I googled a cable knit pattern to see how to create the design.  I finished her up with Copic freckles and little white gel pen highlights.

SugarPea Designs September Release Day 4

Day four of SugarPea Designs' release is here and we're dishing up some yummy pie!  There are both stand alone pie die cuts, which you can see on my first card, and a pie stamp set that is featured on my second card.  We are also highlighting this new Leaf Cover Plate die which is so pretty!

I shaded the die cut pieces with Copic markers, added a partial sentiment from the Sweet as Pie stamp set, and the whole card came together easily thanks to the Leaf Cover Plate background.
I stamped three images from the Sweet as Pie stamp set in a light tan ink to create a background, colored them with Copic markers, and added a white heat embossed sentiment from the same set.

Also Used:
Dies: Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles, Card Front Element Builder
Ink: Distress Ink Mowed Lawn, Memento Dessert Sand, VersaMark

SugarPea Designs September Release Day 3

Slug Bug Red (or punch buggie, if that's your thing)!  This retro VW die is so much fun!  There's even a score line so that the door can open!  It's day three of SugarPea Designs' sneak peek week and so many fun new products to share!

I cut the car out of both red and white card stock and colored the white pieces with Copic markers.  The tires were cut from black and it all came together like pieces of a puzzle.  The tree was shaded as well, and the background is stamped with the new Buffalo Check background stamp.  There are two new word dies with borders.  I used the word "merry", and there is also the word, "joy".
I love the white on red buffalo plaid I've been seeing on Pinterest, so that's where my inspiration came from for this card.  It includes the tree that comes with the Christmas Car die set, and the new Oh So Jolly Sentiments stamp set.

Also Used:
Dies:  Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles, Postage Stamp
Ink: VersaMark,
Copics:  BG000,01, C00,1,2,3, E23
Other:  SSS fine detail white embossing powder
