Back from a Great Vacation!

Ah, coloring!  Loved it as a kid, and love it just as much now using Copics.  I colored one of my favorite images from LOTV, Coffee Break, to match this gorgeous paper pad by My Mind's Eye called, Blush.  Rita's sketch on Freshly Made Sketches this week lends so well to showing off all the beautiful papers in that pad.

The banners were cut randomly and a few were curled.  The flowers were made by scoring 1/4" strips of the paper, fan folding, gluing ends together, and positioning them together by gluing them to a 1/2" circle.  I put a small brad in each one just to fill the center.  The border for the banners was cut on my Silhouette and is called, Assorted Ornate Border.  The sentiment is another favorite by LOTV called, Handwritten Phrases inked in Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  I used Perfect Pearls (patted down) for a little sheen.

Our last day of school was the Friday before Memorial Day weekend, so each year we try to take advantage of vacation destinations that next week when most schools are still in session.  This year we drove down to the Smoky Mountains in TN for some hiking, spelunking, and horseback riding.  This little guy came right up on our deck.

Don't worry, I wasn't as close as it may seem.  We were told he would be relocated, I sure hope so.  On our way home we took a detour to the Creation Museum in KY, just outside Cincinnati, OH.  If you believe in creationism, it's a fantastic resource.  If you believe in evolution, it gives much food for thought.

  8. Cute, cute, CUTE! Really love those little pennants grounding that darling image! And that bear! How stinkin' adorable! I'd love to see that! But mama bear probably wouldn't be so proud of her little one being brave enough to get that close to humans ;). Did you get your stamp set?
