Twelve Kits of Occasions: May

I'm never ready to say good-bye to our one month of spring, but it is the last day of May, and I'm happy to share my cards from the wonderful kit that our friend, Tracey, put together:

I love gerbera  daisies, so I was excited that Tracey included this Essentials by Ellen Mondo Gerbera Daisy.  I colored mine coral using Copic markers:
I used an ink blended background that was sitting on my desk to highlight this teacher and her apple:
I've always wanted to try this Lawn Fawn Reveal Wheel, so this was another exciting surprise in Tracey's kit:
Growing up, we had a camper similar to this one.  It was tiny!  Of course I had to color the car just like the 1971 Chevy Caprice that we had to pull it.  Here's a photo I found on the web - looks just like it!

I love this big pencil Tracey included.  She even cut it out of the Lawn Fawn Schoolyard paper collection which includes the colors #2 Pencil, and Pencil Eraser.  I shaded it in warm greys.
The previous card and next five, include the amazing Lawn Fawn plaid papers from the kit.  Tracey even cut feathers out of it!  Almost all of these cards were created entirely with the elements from the kit.

The darling kids on my next two cards may don some mortar boards in the future, depending on how I decide to use these cards.

That's a wrap!  I had a lot fun with this kit!  Thank you, Tracey!  Please head on over to the 12 Kits of Occasions blog for the list of supplies, and to see how my teammates interpreted this kit!

I can't wait to colour another daisy in corals just like you did, so beautiful! The rainbow background looks so fab with the teacher--LOVE! That LF Happy Trails stamps set evokes memories in so many people, I love that you found the car online and I love the addition of the hills on your Reveal Wheel!! The shading on the pencil is probably my favourite thing you did--it looks just like a loved pencil you would find in a little kids desk!!! Of course the remaining five cards are all so super cute. so glad you had so much fun with the kit my friend!

And speaking of popping, your rainbow blended background totally makes your teacher pop...FABULOUS card!! Loving your reveal wheel card too and of course the photo of the car...we had a 1970 Chevy Impala that was dark green and we used to call it the "boat" because it was sooo long! LOVE how you shaded it and I am so going to CASE you on that one! Yep, you definitely rocked this kit and I'm giving you an A+ too!! :0)

  10. Wow.... the shading you did on the large pencil is amazing Kara! Love how you colored your car same as the one you had when you were little and what a darling card it is! ( Imessed mine up with coloring:( ) What a good idea to take the smaller image octopus and turn it into a tag card, love that one! I am still in awe of your shading on the pencil and how real it looks and what a difference it makes!
I also can’t believe June is here!

  12. I'll bet Tracey is so appreciative of how productive and creative you were with her kit, Kara! As you know, a lot of time and effort and product goes into putting one together and you have impressed me no end with how much time and effort and talent you put into brilliantly using all of the generous goodies! Each one is spectacular!! I left you a voice message, but hubby might have deleted it thinking it was some crank call cuz I was using my gangsta voice, lol! Talk soon! Hugs, Darnell
