An Evening Treat

Warm evenings and ice cream will soon be a fond memory as the nights start to get colder here in Wisconsin.  I could stand for a warmer fall and spring, but I do love our summers here.

Juliet and Austin were colored with Copic markers and fussy cut.  Austin's legs cut and moved so he could sit on the picnic bench.  I masked the lanterns and ink blended the background with Distress Oxides.  The sentiment was white heat embossed and the tops were inked with Copic Marker.  The lanterns were colored yellow with regular Distress Ink using a finger dauber.  I then used the dauber and yellow acrylic paint to create the circular glow around the lanterns

Supplies:
Purple Onion Designs Stamps: Juliet, Austin, Lantern String, Sunshiny Sentiment Set
Dies:  Lawn Fawn Small Slimline with Lift the Flaps
Ink/Paint:  LF Jet Black, Clear, DOx Wilted Violet, Milled Lavender, Faded Jeans, Black Soot, Jenni Bowlin Lemon Drops acrylic paint

Thanks for coming over to visit!
May the Lord bless you today!
Kara

  1. Awwwww...Juliet and Austin are SO CUTE and what a FUN little scene you've created with them sitting under the glowing lanterns and celebrating together!! Been a little cool here in Michigan too to be celebrating outside, but hopefully a little Indian Summer will show up and stay for awhile! AWESOME card my friend...love it!! Hugs. :0)

  2. How cute is this birthday celebration. His ice cream sundae makes me hungry. I love the glow of the lanterns and how you altered his legs so he could sit down. Great card, Kara.

  3. Yum ... ice cream ... how delicious, Kara ... as delicious as this adorable scene! I love how you created the glow around the lanterns ... it lights up the top of the sentiment and the parasol beautifully! Still summer here ... and while ice cream isn't on the menu just now, I've enjoyed it here! Big hugs and bisous, Anita :)
