Bubbles, Bunnies and a Video

When I saw the MFT sketch challenge this week, the design reminded me of bubbles, which got me thinking about MFT's Bubble Over with Joy, which led to this card:
Typically, I would color bubbles using the no-line technique, but I was curious to see if I could keep the solid black lines, and still make them look enough like bubbles.  It is pretty much the same coloring process, but I made sure the colors were bright enough to stand up to the black outlines.

I made a VIDEO of the process, if you're interested in seeing how it was made.  You can watch it here or on my YouTube channel:

This card is going to play over at the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #424

  4. Oh my...could those bunnies and bubbles be any sweeter?!! Your video is wonderful and once again I felt like I was sitting down with you and learning! I had never heard of putting the tips of 2 Copics together to blend and can't wait to try that! Also learned that I NEED a few more W and E Copics after watching your video...thanks for enabling Kara!! Seriously though, this is just the cutest card and those bunnies and bubbles are colored to perfection!! And I adore the polka dotted dresses and never thought to add Copic shadowing to the paper piecing...I will from now on though! FABULOUS card and video my friend...I love both!! Hugs. :0)

  5. Rowena (pronounced Kara) I'm going to echo everything Patti and Marcia have said, and add my own "wows" to their comments. I am really glad you started your own video channel, as now when I'm having a difficult time coloring, I can just pop over there for a quick refresher, or for more tips and tricks. This card is adorable, btw! The bubbles turned out perfectly, and those bunnies are so sweet. You sure can work magic with copics! Hope you're feeling better. xoxo Bev

  15. WOW, I'm speechless (for once). Those bubbles look like my grands used to blow in the front yard. They look like they are reflecting the sun with the rainbow colors you get with bubbles. I am in awe. This is a darling card and I love the polka dots dresses. I'm so happy you are making videos now.
