Twofer Card Challenge #30: Sun/Moon

It's the tenth of the month which means it's time to begin a new challenge over at Twofer Card Challenge!  This month our theme is sun/moon.  You may choose either one.  I chose a favorite W+9 sun image from A Pocketful.  It has retired from their collection, probably years ago, but it's still one of my go-to sets for spreading sunshine:
I masked and ink blended with Distress inks and then stamped the sun on top of that.  The pocket was stamped with blue ink onto blue cardstock.  I used a white gel pen to highlight the stitching on the pockets and also gold heat embossed the grommets.  The start of the sentiment was white heat embossed onto the pocket and the ink blended die cut word finishes the sentiment.
I stamped the sun in two different shades on this birthday card, turning the stamp to fill in more rays.  The flowers are from the same stamp set.  I added some shaded detail with Copic markers.  The panel was layered with a couple of cardstocks and a white diecut  lace border.  The sentiment, from the same stamp set, was white heat embossed.
Check out all of the inspiration from our guest designers and design team at the Twofer Card Challenge, and then come play along!

  3. What sweet and oh so pretty sun-drenched blooms, Kara ... they put me in mind of a summer wildflower meadow ... bright and lovely! Your pocket full of sunshine is brilliant ... it really looks as though the sun is flooding out of the pocket and warming everything around it, including the ombré sentiment! 5. I remember when that set came out, and I had to use all my super powers not to put it in my cart. Now I'm wishing I had...Love how you've used it for both your cards. The pocket full of sunshine is literally, brilliant! Love that idea. Perfect blending, and the scalloped edge panel is a great way to give this just a touch of the girly. Your double stamped sun shining down on that sweet pink flower garden is delightful. Lots of 'girly' here, and I'm loving it! The lacy edge just adds the perfect amount of something special too. Great cards, my friend. xo Bev

  12. Two sunshine-y designs that reflect your sunshine-y disposition, Kara! Do you know I have a pocket stamp from years ago, too, and I still have never inked it up. What is WRONG with me?!! Your design is so great with the sun beaming out of the pocket, perfectly colored denim, and an awesome sediment layout! Your birthday design is so very pretty with the big peek of sun and those sweet summer flowers. It's very feminine, like a summer frock! Miss you! Hugs, Darnell
