Another Wish to Make

I used the "Make a Wish" sentiment from Penny Black's Critter Party on my last card, and decided to keep going.  These mice make me smile.  I'm sure I would think otherwise if they were in my kitchen and into my cupcakes!

I love blending challenges together.  Give me a sketch, a color pallet, and a tool or technique, and I've got parameters!  I've always been a "rulesy" type of girl.  I remember once back in college, I was walking down a crowded hallway (on the right side, of course), and this kid was walking down the WRONG side!  I suppose back then I wasn't very gracious because I remember muttering, "You're doing it wrong!" Ha!  Who made me hallway patrol?!  Well, I've come a long way in the twenty some years since, I hope.

Papers and flowers are from my stash.  The eyelets are from Making Memories and I don't think they're available anymore.

This card is entered in the following challenges:
ABC DT Challenge
Freshly Made Sketches #40 (I rotated it)
Cupcake Craft Challenges:  Cupcake 197...Something in the Eyelet

Thanks for coming by, I hope you're having a great day!

  1. Aw so cute and sweet... To bad they dont make PB in digis... I don't care to buy stamps they take up to much space I just buy those sentiment ones. I love working with digis so much affordable for me anyway.... love your pink/greens and those eyelets is a clever way of doing it on that die.....
    Enjoy your day Kara~

  19. This is really neatly done and wonderfully colored, Kara Lynne! It's adorable and a great take on the challenge and a great idea (into my faves) attaching your centerpiece with the eyelets and string. I was just thinking yesterday how I don't really see people using eyelets anymore (including me, even though I love them and I have a ton of them), so you've encouraged me to use them again, thank you! I'm with you on para meters and find it irritating when people are walking in halls and on sidewalks like "fish swimming upstream!" I'm getting dangerously close to that age where I can just see myself stopping, pointing with a long boney index finger, and screeching, "You, turn around! You, get to the left!" Unfortunately, all this cell phone technology means I would no doubt end up in jail! Okay, bye, I can't just chat all day you know.

  22. This is gorgeous Kara, combines some of my favourite things; embossing, pink, eyelets, flowers ...and Penny Black, these mice and hedgehogs are what got me hooked on stamping over 15 years ago and after seeing this I think I need to dig some out and use them again!

  28. Love all the pink and embossing. You're such an awesome color-er (not a word, I know). I'm a rules girl too. In fact, people that come out of the "enter" side of doors annoy me to no end. They do indeed receive a dirty look. Social correction! It's all our responsibility :)

There is alot going on here, but you have put it all together with such perfect style!
