We Celebrate YOU

Back again with another birthday card for the Gallery Idol open auditions.  This card was fun to make!

I embossed the background but left the bottom edge.  I inked that, and the embossed sentiment, with Festive Berries Distress Ink.  The word bubbles were cut on the Silhouette.  Easy tip for making word bubbles on the Silhouette:  Make an oval, click it until you see point editing,  click three times at the place you want the carrot, then pull the middle point down as far as you want it to go - easy!  A little twine, a little washi tape, and there's my card.  The washi tape was from Michaels.

Thanks for coming over.  It's been so much fun to reconnect with everyone!
Have a great day,
Kara Lynne

Birthday Fun With Gallery Idol

I thought I'd ease back into blog land since I've missed out on so much.  Then I saw that the Gallery Idol Challenge has begun, and I couldn't resist!  I loved watching the talented ladies last year, and really learned so much.  So I worked on a couple of entries:

I cut the candy dish in both papers with my Silhouette, combined them, and then put acetate on the back.  The front panel is raised to let the "candy" show through.  I punched out 1/2" circles from the same paper pad and added Glossy Accents and loose glitter.  Looking now at the Idol gallery, I see the PS sentiments are very popular so I won't be getting marks for originality there, oh well, who can resist those PS stamps?

I'll be back with the other card I made today for the the challenge in a little bit.  Until then, thanks for coming over!

Have a great day,
Kara Lynne

Many Thanks to Our Dedicated Teachers

Today I'd like to take time to thank all of the teachers out there!  The teachers at our school work so hard to give our kids a quality education.  We're at a very small Christian school where it's clear that these teachers "do it all for the glory of God" (1 Cor 10:31).

Fifth grade is considered middle school, so we had multiple teachers this year between our two girls.  I decided to keep it simple by using the same format for each of them.
That PS scientist reminds me so much of our science teacher, and his card was CASed from this card by Heidi Van Laar.  The alien one is for one of our teachers who is leaving (whaah!).

There was another one, but it looks like I forgot to take a picture before I gave it - oops!

Thanks for coming over, and if you are a teacher, double thanks for all that you do!
Have a great day,
Kara Lynne
