You're Smokin'!

and I mean literally!  I took a flame to the image square and burned the edges:
Today I'm over at the SugarPea Designs blog featuring a masculine card.  This BBQ buddy and his Webber grill are from the Grill Master stamp set.  The sentiment comes from the King of the Grill Sentiments stamp set. It's white heat embossed on a tag from the Envelope Liner Sugarcut set.  I set the scene with a picnic patterned napkin stamped using the Buffalo Check stamp and cut with the stitched scallop rectangle from the Card Front Element Builder SugarCut set.  To increase the charred look, I lightly swiped some Distress Ink in Hickory Smoke and Vintage Photo from the singed corners outward, and also carried it through on the main panel of the card.

Copics:  C0,1,3,5,7,8, R02,20,22,24,27,29,39, E000,00,21,33,35,37,47, B91,93,95,99

Purple Onion Designs New Release Continues!

These two friends know what it's all about (hint: it's not the hokey pokey)!

This stamp is called Elliot & Marcel - Hugs.  It was illustrated by Julian Charlton for Purple Onion Designs and is part of his new spring release.  Head on over to the Purple Onion Designs blog to see all the new stamps and wonderful inspiration by the design team!

These friends were colored with Copic Markers.  Marcel was a combination of E10s, and Elliot was BV00s and 20s.  C0,1,3 for the ground shadows.  I cut the image out using a Lawn Fawn Outside/In Stitched Scalloped Square Stackable, and placed in on some MFT Bundles of Blossoms Brights patterned paper.  The sentiment is from the same POD set.  Please consider this a jumbo hug today from me!

New Purple Onion Designs Stamps Illustrated by Julian Charlton!

If you're feeling down today, I hope these two will help you smile:
We're celebrating a new spring release of stamps with Julian Charlton's illustrations at Purple Onion Designs!  This is one of three stamps featuring Elliot & Marcel, the elephant and monkey.  Check out the blog to see all of the new images!  I will have another card featuring Elliot & Marcel early next week.

I love the size of this elephant!  It gives plenty of room to paper piece fun patterns.  I used some older paper from Basic Grey: Hipster.  He was shaded with Copic markers BG70,72, C0,1,3.  The monkey was stamped, colored with E70,71,74,50,51,53, and cut from white cardstock and glued back on the elephant.  The sentiment is also a new one from Julian Charlton, and there are several that work perfectly with this image.  I white heat embossed it, added some Distress ink over that, and added some shadow under the words with a C3 and C1 Copic marker.

Twofer Card Challenge #26: Rain/Umbrella

Are you ready for a new Twofer Challenge?!  Our theme this month is rain/umbrella.  My image of choice is this puppy, Buddy, from Penny Black's Buddy and Duck stamp set.
Buddy looked like he could walk a tight rope with the way he was holding that umbrella, so I let him try it out on this birthday card.  I was going to stamp water and a shark fin under him, but decided to give him a break since he's working without a net.
Buddy and Duck are fast friends in this next card.  I paper pieced their umbrellas and ink blended the sky with a cloud stencil.

I hope you will join us for this fun challenge!  Please head on over to the Twofer Card Challenge blog to get some wonderful inspiration from our guest designers, TK and Rosi, and the team!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Penny Black Buddy and Duck, LF You are Sublime, Coaster Critters, W+9 Sending Sunshine
