How To Create Peas On Earth

I shared a similar card during Lawn Fawn's most recent inspiration week, and I wanted to show how I created it in a video.  There are a couple of differences, but it's pretty much the same card:

Here they are side by side with the original on the left:

This is a fun card to make with a lot of ink blending.  I didn't worry about the Earth being perfect.  It just needed to give the idea.  Here's the video showing how I made it.  You can watch it here, on Lawn Fawn's YouTube channel or on my YouTube channel:

It's Time for a Little Merry and Bright Card

This little racoon is all decked out in pink and purple as she's sliding along the snow banks.  She's one of the newest images illustrated by Stacey Yacula for Purple Onion Designs:

The background was ink blended with Distress Oxides in Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, and Spun Sugar.  I then speckled the panel with Kuritake Gansai Tambi shimmer watercolor.  The sentiment was  stamped in regular Picked Raspberry Distress Ink and the racoon was colored with Copic markers with a little white gel pen for the eye and around the mask.

Twofer Card Challenge #33: Stars

Yay!  It's November 10th, and that means it's time for a new Twofer!  This month we're looking up to the sky and we're seeing stars!  My star of choice is a stamp from Lawn Fawn's Super Star stamp set.
I turned him into a star fish on this birthday card. He's the smaller of the two.  I used a Copic Multi-liner to add a few dots to match his starfish friend from Lawn Fawn's So Jelly stamp set.  The shells and sentiments come from several Lawn Fawn sets and are all listed in the supplies below.  The sand and water were created with LF stencils and Distress ink.  I added Copics to shade in the sand.
We move from the water into the sky and now my little muse has become a shooting star!  I heat embossed him and the sentiment in white.  The galaxy was created with distress inks, water, and white acrylic paint for the little stars.

Supplies:
Stamps: LF Upon A Star, Super Star, So Smooth, So Jelly, Life is Good, On the Beach
Dies:  MFT In and Out Stitched Rounded Rectangles
Stencils: LF Hillside
Ink: LF Clear, Jet Black, DI Salty Ocean, Tea Dye, Picked Raspberry, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire
Copics:  E31,33,35, RV00,21,23, BV00,01,02,20, B21, Y11,13,17,21,23, multi-liner .03
Other:  LF White embossing powder, white acrylic paint

Two big announcements:
1.  For this month only, there are prizes for this challenge!
2. Also for this month only, cards can be for the same occasion (Christmas is just around the corner).

I hope you will join us this star-studded month over in the Twofer gallery!  Please head over to the Twofer Card Challenge blog for all the details and much more inspiration from our guest designers, Pia and Liz, and the rest of the team!

Stacey Yacula's New Release for Purple Onion Designs

The snow fell last night at this little house, but today it settled into a perfect packing snow:

I stamped out the snowman image first, masked it off, and then stamped the house in the background.
I used Lawn Fawn's Jellyfish ink to stamp everything so I could get a no-line look.
I added a sidewalk so that these two were building their snowman on the parkway.

Stacey Yacula's new release is available now at Purple Onion Designs
The complete collection, plus the Holiday Messages sentiment set, is bundled at 30% off the regular price now until November 15th.

Christmas Bakery Video Series with Purple Onion Designs

I'm sharing a video series today featuring the Sweetest Little Town stamps by Purple Onion Designs and illustrated by Stacey Yacula.  The first video in the series demonstrates how I masked and stamped out the images.  They are unmounted red rubber stamps, and I have a very easy system I use to stamp them.  I also draw out the road and sidewalk to bring the scene together.

The second video focuses on how I colored the various animals, not including their winter wear.  It shares ideas about combining color families for coloring fur.

The third video is all about coloring the background including the snow and shadows.

I hope you will join me over on my YouTube channel for some Stamping a Copic coloring fun!

Poinsettia Slimline Card

I love the combination of cream, gold, and white, and paired that with Lawn Fawn's new Stitched Poinsettia Lawn Cuts for a slimline Christmas card:

I blended a bit of gold ink onto the white die cuts and used Lawn Fawn's new Gold Metallic cardstock.  I kept it simple with a die cut sentiment So Joyful Line Border.

I had an extra poinsettia so I created a quick tag using Lawn Fawn's new Scalloped Circle Gift Tag.  I hope you're enjoying all of the new Lawn Fawn fall and winter products.  There's much more inspiration over on Lawn Fawn's blog.

Lawn Fawn Supplies:
Dies:  Stitched Poinsettia, So Joyful Line Border, Scalloped Circle Gift Tag, Small Slimline with Lift the Flaps

Stacey Yacula's winter release for Purple Onion Designs is here!  Today I'm featuring the Church Horizon stamp:

I colored everything in Copics, then masked the scene and a circle to ink blend the background with Distress Inks.
I blended a little of the ink at the bottom of the scene as well.

Finally, I speckled white acrylic paint everywhere for some falling snow.

Tea and Cookies

How about a warm cup of tea, or coffee, or cocoa and some cookies?  I created a shaker mug with a little surprise inside:

A gingerbread cookie appears when the spoon is lifted out of the mug.  I stamped the mice and accessories from Lawn Fawn's A Creature Was Stirring onto the Outside In Stitched Mug.  I added extra gingerbread cookies inside and covered it with acetate and the Stitched Mug Frame to make it into a shaker.  I kept the top of the Outside In Stitched Mug open so the spoon could be put in and pulled out.  I intended the shaker part with the mice to look like the pattern on the outside of the mug, but my husband asked me why there were mice inside the mug.  Hmm, now that's how I see it too!

The Lawn Fawn blog is full of great inspiration using the new mug dies.  Stop on over there for a real treat!

Lawn Fawn Supplies:
Stamps:  A Creature Was Stirring, How You Bean? Christmas Cookie Add-on
Dies:  Outside In Stitched Mug, Stitched Mug Frame, Outside In Stitched Rectangles, Banner from Flippin' Awesome, A Creature Was Stirring, How You Bean? Christmas Cookie Add-on
Ink: Jet Black, Clear
Paper:  Let It Shine, Silver Metallic, Mermaid, Raspberry, White
Other:  Silver embossing powder, Peppermint Hemp Cord

Lawn Fawn's Winter Dragon

This little dragon's frosty breath is sending out a message for a magical holiday season.  I've always seen the season as a time of celebrating Christ's birth, and not really one of magic, but there is something magical about the coming together of people during this time.  Not the wizardry type of magic, but more like the amazing results of loving our neighbor as ourselves.

I heat embossed the sentiment and dragon in silver.  The background was ink blended with Oxide inks and the dragon was colored with Copic markers.  I added glitter to his scarf and horns and sealed it in with a thin coat of glue.

Check out Lawn Fawn's blog for some amazing inspiration!
