The Twelve Kits of Occasions: July!

The summer is flying by fast, but let's take a moment on this final day of July to appreciate the sweetness of the season!  Marybeth is our host this month at the Twelve Kits of Occasions with a wonderful treat-filled kit!

I love the colors and images on the papers in this kit!  I added a little Copic shading to the popsicles and their sticks, and then some white gel pen accents.
This mason jar vase includes some flowers I cut out of the patterned paper:
I loved that popsicle paper so much, I made it the focus and just embellished with a sno-cone!
I added some Copic shading to these flowers and leaves that Marybeth stamped for us:
These are the cutest food trucks, and the sentiment is what I hope for all of you:

Thank you for sharing in these summer treats today, and thank you, Marybeth for sharing this wonderful kit!  Please head on over to the Twelve Kits of Occasions blog to see the creative ideas thought up by my teammates!  A list of all the supplies can be found there.
No photo description available.
I hope you are enjoying your summer (or winter if we don't share the same hemisphere).  Thanks for coming over to visit!  May the Lord bless you today!

Purple Onion Designs' New Clear Mounting Stamp - Video!

Before I share my card today, I wanted to share some great news!  There's a new product available from Purple Onion Designs that makes stamping with unmounted rubber stamps easier than ever!  It's a clear mounting stamp and it comes in two sizes: 4x6 and 6x6.  They work in stamp positioners like the MISTI, and can be cut down to fit any acrylic block.  They peel off the MISTI and acrylic block just like any other clear stamp.  They're easy to clean, store, and use over and over.  I have some demonstrations and more information on the video below.

This card is also featured on the video:

You can watch the video demonstration here or on my YouTube channel:

Twofer Card Challenge #18: Garden

Do you garden?  Sadly, I don't.  I maintain the yard, but that's not the same.  I can, however, make cards with a garden theme, and that is just what we're asking this month at the Twofer Card Challenge.  My garden item of choice is a pea and pod from Lawn Fawn's Be Hap-pea.
The baby card was stamped in Memento New Sprout and colored with Copics.  The sentiment was stamped in Memento Bamboo Leaves.  The top word was curved.
This birthday card was also stamped with Memento New Sprout and colored with Copics.  The faces and sentiment were stamped in Memento Bamboo Leaves.  The by-line of the sentiment was selectively stamped from different stamp sets.

Our busy teammate, Loll, is stepping down from the role as designer, but thankfully, remaining with us as blog administrator.  We are happy to welcome Cat from Cat Luvs Paper as our newest design team member!  I hope you will join us this month and bring the garden into your craft area by joining us at the Twofer Card Challenge.  Please head over there to see some great inspiration from our guest designers Kathy (My Aspirations) and Robyn (Waterlily Cards), and the design team!
Supplies:
Stamps:  Lawn Fawn Be Hap-pea, Screen Time, Simply Sentiments, Harold's ABCs
Dies:  Lawn Fawn Lacy Borders
Copics:  Peas/Pods:  YG00,01,03,05,06,11,21,23,25, G05,07,14, Hats: B00,02,05, R20,22,24,27, Y13,15,17,38, YR68
Paper:  Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid: Spring, Cilantro CS
Ink: Memento New Sprout, Bamboo Leaves

Tag, You're It! #91 Summer Fruits

Time again for a new challenge over at Tag, You're It!  This time it's summer fruits.  My friend, Marybeth chose our theme, which made me smile because she lives in the same area of California where my great great uncle owned an orange grove back at the turn of the last century.  I have a whole box of letters between him and my great grandfather, who stayed in Wisconsin.  Most of the news was about agriculture, weather, and politics - they were men.

Our family loves to pick blueberries, strawberries, and cherries.  Well, as a mom, I like to think everybody enjoys it.  Perhaps they still do it just to humor me.  Anyway, We (or I) like to go up to Door County and pick tart cherries.  They are great in smoothies, and cobbler, but best of all is when my husband makes his own maraschino cherries!  They're so good, and taste nothing like the ones in the store.

I cut the cherries out on the Silhouette and colored them with Copics.  The little die cut tag was ink blended with Distress ink and spritzed with water over the white heat embossed sentiment.

What's your favorite summer fruit?  I hope you will join us for this fun challenge.  You can find the details and much more inspiration from the team over at the Tag, You're It blog.  Here's our delicious inspiration:
Supplies:
Stamps:  MFT Stay Cool
Dies:  MFT Tiny Tags, PTI Circle Tag
Copics:  R30,32,35,37,39,81,83,85,89, YG06,61,63, G12,14,17
Ink: Distress Ink - Picked Raspberry, Aged Mahogany, Spun Sugar, VersaMark
Other:  Kaisercraft Tea Party patterned paper, SSS white fine detail embossing powder, Signo white gel pen, Michael's twine

Fireworks at Dusk

Back at the fairgrounds again today.  This time to watch the fireworks!  The sun has set and dusk has begun.  Time to celebrate like crazy!

The background and fireworks were stamped in VersaMark, heat embossed, and watercolored with Distress inks on Bristol smooth card stock.  The panel was adhered to the card base.  A white card stock panel was die cut to create a square window.  It was popped up on foam adhesive to create a shaker.  The sentiment was stamped with two different colors of Catherine Pooler ink and matted on navy card stock cut to match the label die cut.

I created a video to show how I watercolored the background.  You can watch it here or on my YouTube Channel:

Supplies:
Stamps:  Purple Onion Designs Carnival Background, Fireworks, Celebrate Like Crazy
Dies:  Spellbinder Labels - modified, MFT Square Double Stitched Frame
Ink:  Distress Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Chipped Sapphire, Black Soot, VersaMark, Catherine Pooler Juniper Mist, Flirty Fuchsia
Other:  SSS fine detail white embossing powder, Michael's brand sequins and seed beads
