SugarPea Designs October Mix It Up Challenge

SugarPea Designs' challenge is winding down, but there's still some time left to play along.  It's nearing the end of October and these three are taking in all the fun of fall:

I used the sketch as a guide, and somewhat stayed within the color palette, although I took liberty by adding the green from that pumpkin stem.  I stamped the foxes from Fall Fox first, masked them with post-it notes, and then, from the same stamp set, I stamped the leaf pile over and over, as well as the single leaf here and there.  I colored everything in Copic Markers, re-masked the foxes, and ink blended the panel in Distress Ink Carved Pumpkin and Gathered Twigs.  The sentiment, also from Fall Fox, was then stamped in Catherine Pooler Peppermint Scrub.
I hope you'll come over to play with us at SugarPea Designs!  You can use the colors, the sketch, or both!

Supplies:
Stamps:  SugarPea Designs Fall Fox
Dies:  SugarCuts Card Front Element Builder
Inks:  Memento Tuxedo Black, DI Carved Pumpkin, Gathered Twigs, CP Peppermint Scrub
Copics:  E11,13,15,30,31,33,35,37, YG03,61,63,67, RV63,66,69, R02,05,27, W00,0,1,2, Y08,13,35, YR15,68

Autumn Days - October's Twelve Kits of Occasions

Sharron Gregory gave us the most amazing autumn kit called, Autumn Days, for October's edition of the Twelve Kits of Occasions.  I enjoyed putting each card together using the wonderful images and beautiful color scheme:

I partially die cut this Penny Black little girl with a stitched rectangle frame.

This Stamping Bella little lady was colored with Copics and fussy cut.
These poor turkeys are not the greatest acrobats, but they sure were fun to color!
I had these squirrels (Lawn Fawn's Shadow Box Park Add-On) colored and lying on my desk, so I thought they'd be fun to pair with Sharron's acorn die cut.
A little Distress Oxide ink in Fired Brick and Wild Honey was blended around this sentiment.  The gold speckles were added with a gold gel pen.
These leaves were edged with gold embossing, along with some of the veins.
No photo description available.
I stayed with the same Copic combination for all of the Copic colored images:
C0, E000,00,01,11,13,21,23,27,50,51,53,55, R20,24,29, B32,34,37,91, YR00,14,18, YG91,93,95, G94, BG70,72

Thank you, Sharron, for this wonderful kit!   I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it!  Please head over to the Twelve Kits of Occasions blog for a full list of products in the kit, and much more inspiration from the talented team!

Introducing the New Purple Onion Designs Holiday Release and Sale!

This little racoon is jumping for joy because today Purple Onion Designs is releasing their holiday collection illustrated by Stacey Yacula!
The images were Copic colored separately, fussy cut, and then arranged on the cabin background.  I cut the panes out of the window so that the little guy could look out.  A small panel was added behind him, also colored with Copics.  The sentiment was stamped on the inside of the card.

Tag, You're It! #99: Autumn Fest

Today begins our 99th challenge over at Tag, You're It!  We're celebrating all that is autumn and I thought I'd pull out some colored pencils for the occasion:
The images are all from Purple Onion Designs.  I masked and layered starting with the pumpkins (it's all one image), then the hay bale, and finally some corn stalks peeking from behind.  Everything was first colored with Copic markers and then Prisma Color pencils.
The tag itself was cut from a Distress Ink blended panel.  A bit of ribbon, floss, and a partial die cut sentiment and it's good to go.

Supplies:
Stamps: Purple Onion Designs Gathered Pumpkins, Hay Bale, 2 Cornfields
Dies:  Studio Katia Dotted Shaker Tag 2, PTI Scripted Die
Ink: Distress Ink Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, Memento Desert Sand

A Raccoon, a pumpkin, and an Ink Blot

This little fellow is so pleased with his new pumpkin.  I hope it's not the one off of my front steps!

I had been working on this card on and off for a while, and when I was coloring in the pine tree trunks, the marker dripped:
I wasn't sure if I should scrap the whole thing, or just cut out the raccoon, but instead, I just kept going.  I shortened the stem on the pumpkin so it wasn't going through the ink blob.  Even though it's not where I would choose to put the sentiment, I'm thankful that it was in a spot that could be covered.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Purple Onion Designs Ginger, Birch Tree Background, Two Forests, Spring Fence, Everyday Blurbs
Copics:  Sky: B0000,000,60, BG70, Grass: G20,21,24,40,43,94,99 Fence: E21,23,25,27, Scarf: B91-99, YG 91-99, Pumpkin: YR02,04,18, E11,13,15, YG90s, Raccoon: C00,0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, W00,0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7, E40,41,42,43,44,47,49

Warm Autumn Wool Background

I played around with the Buffalo Check background stamp and wanted to make a woven wool plaid looking background.  There are so many plaid patterns waiting to be stamped with the Buffalo Check simply by moving the paper up and over a quarter of an inch!  I think I achieved the scratchy wool blanket affect:
This little guy from Gnome for Christmas has a few fall projects to do before winter sets in.  He even dressed for the occasion with his pumpkin orange shirt and green cap to disguise himself in the pumpkin patch, should any humans appear.

I created a video to show how I made that wool plaid background and the rest of the card.  You can watch it here, on my YouTube channel, or on the SugarPea YouTube channel:

SugarPea Designs Supplies:
Stamps:  Buffalo Check, Gnome For Christmas, Sweet as Pie, Fall Fox

Count Von Count - Video

Lawn Fawn came out with a cute little bat add-on for the Woodland Critter Huggers.  I took my inspiration from Count Von Count from Sesame Street.  He was a purple muppet with a green cape, a royal sash, pointy eyebrows, a widow's peak, and he wore a monocle.  He could turn into a bat, and he loved to count, of course.  Here he's counting his little bat friends:

I created a video to show how I put this guy together.  You can watch it here or on my YouTube channel, or on the Lawn Fawn YouTube channel:

Lawn Fawn Supplies:
Dies:  Woodland Critter Huggers, Bat Add-on, Reveal Wheel Circle Add-on, Build A House Halloween Add-on (little bats), Center Picture Window Card (little circle), Stitched Simple Wavy Borders

Other:  Eggplant hemp cord, Acrylic blocks, Glue Tube, Glitter Pen, Cutterbee scissors, Glue Dots

Twofer Card Challenge #21: Sweets

Welcome to a new Twofer Card Challenge!  This month is all about sweets!  My sweet of choice is a little cupcake from Lawn Fawn's Sweet Friends stamp set.
This little cupcake is animated with a stamped face and feet (included in the set).  The icing was popped up on craft foam.  The sentiment was stamped on a white die cut speech bubble, layered with a speech bubble frame of craft foam, then a speech bubble of acetate, and then a speech bubble frame in CS.  I glued some of the sprinkles inside the shaker so they could be "flying" about even when the card isn't moving.  The background sprinkles were stamped with LF Clear ink  and a stamp from the same Sweet Friends set.
This "You're Sweet" card is a thank you card.  The "doily" was created with both the Quilted Backdrop die, and the Fancy Scallop Rectangle die.  The line border sentiment was die cut twice, and the blue portion was "sugared" with glitter.  The cupcake top was also double layered and sugared with glitter.  The little flowers are from the LF Spring Fling patterned paper.  I outlined them in black to match the look of the stamped images, fussy cut them, and sugared them too.  To keep all that sweet sugar at bay, I added Glossy Accents over the glitter, but as you can see on the cupcake, it cracked under the pressure - lol!

Stop on by the Twofer Card Challenge blog to see the fantastic twofer examples by our guest designers, Lisa and Marianne, and the design team members.  I hope to see your twofer in the gallery!

Supplies:
Stamps: Lawn Fawn Sweet Friends, Happy Happy Happy

Creating a Scene with Partially Stamped Images - Video!

What do hot air balloons, cocoa, and cookies for Santa have in common?  Pumpkins, of course!
The bunny and mouse shop keepers are selectively stamped out of a hot air balloon, the mice were originally reaching for cookies, and the pumpkin stand was created from a cocoa stand.  Everything was colored with Copics, fussy cut, and adhered to the gray card stock textured with an embossing folder.
