Peas On Earth!

I am thrilled that Lawn Fawn came out with a winter version of one of my very favorite characters - PEAS!

I began by stamping the peas in Lawn Fawn's Jellyfish ink, the lamppost in Jet Black, and the sentiment and music notes in Clear ink.
I masked the peas and lamppost, and white heat embossed the rest.

To create the scene, I used Lawn Fawn's largest Outside In Stitched Circle to create a mask.  I used the negative mask to ink blend Earth.  I looked at a photo for reference and used finger daubers to blend green ink in roughly the right shapes and areas, and filled the rest with blue ink and a finger dauber.  Then I placed the positive mask on Earth and ink blended outer space with blending brushes.  White acrylic paint was speckled onto the outer space portion.  Masks were then removed and the peas and lamp light were colored with Copic markers.

The Sweetest Little Town by Stacey Yacula for Purple Onion Designs

Purple Onion Designs has the new winter release by Stacey Yacula!  It's called The Sweetest Little Town, and it really is that sweet!
I'll be posting several cards in the upcoming week, but today I'm featuring this blustery little scene:

Everything was colored with Copic markers.  I selectively masked areas to look like the light was shining through the windows, and then lightly ink blended the background.  White acrylic paint was speckled on everything with a still brush to create the flurries.  Mama and baby bear were stamped separately, fussy cut, and adhered with foam tape for a little dimension.

Stacey Yacula's new release is available now at Purple Onion Designs
The complete collection, plus the Holiday Messages sentiment set, is bundled at 30% off the regular price now until November 15th.

Copics:  E43,44,47,50,51,53,55,57, C00,0,1,3,4,6, BG10,13,15,23, YR16,21, Y02, G21,24,28, YG67, R24,27,89

Autumn Slimline with New Julian Charlton Stamps for Purple Onion Designs!

Winslow and Rusty are taking every opportunity to enjoy the fall weather.  After the leaves are all raked up, it's time for a little fun:

The images were colored with Copic markers, and the sky and grass were ink blended with Distress ink.  I used a torn piece of paper as my mask for the cloudy background, and pounced a blending brush to create texture to the grass.

Check out the new autumn stamps from Julian Charlton available now at Purple Onion Designs!

Winslow and Rusty Are At It Again!

I'm back with another card featuring the new autumn stamps illustrated by Julian Charlton for Purple Onion Designs.  These two are sharing a warm and toasty campfire:

The moon and stars were white heat embossed and masked, and then the back panel was ink blended with Distress Oxide inks.  The hills were freehand cut and ink blended also with Distress Oxides.  The Winslow and Rusty image was stamped onto the front hill along with a white heat embossed sentiment.  The Rusty and Winslow image was also stamped on white cardstock, colored with Copic markers and fussy cut.

Next time I think I would ink blend with regular Distress ink so I could come back and add shadows on the hill with Copic markers.  It's always a learning process, right?

New Julian Charlton Autumn Images for Purple Onion Designs

I just featured some of Julian Charlton's stamps on my last post (see below), which features two cards for the Twofer Card Challenge.
Now, I have the pleasure of sharing some new fall images from this creative illustrator!

Winslow and Rusty reaped quite a harvest today!  The sentiment follows through to the inside of the card where it reads, "It's your birthday!"

I stamped the tree image and Winslow and Rusty image and then created a scene around them with Copic markers.

Twofer Card Challenge #32: Silhouettes

It's time for a new Twofer Card Challenge!  This month is all about silhouettes.  My silhouette of choice is Frederick the Fox and also Cocoa the Bunny, illustrated by Julian Charlton for Purple Onion Designs:

Cocoa is quite the character!  I'm not sure how he got up there, but I was told by my daughter that it's not that uncommon for bunnies to be up on the moon, and referred me to the legend of "Conejo en la Luna" which is like the man in the moon, only in some cultures, it's a rabbit instead.  Cocoa liked the idea.

I masked off the moon and ink blended around it.  Once the lighter colors were blended, I put a LF hillside stencil on the bottom, and then blended with the darker colors.  I then stamped the images with Archival Jet Black ink.

Tux the Penguin is about to take a topple here.  Cocoa used Frederick as a distraction.  I'm not sure if Cocoa is prepared for the repercussions of his actions.

All of the images were either stamped with clear ink and white heat embossed, or stamped with Archival Jet Black ink.

I hope you will join us this month over at the Twofer Card Challenge!
Please stop by to see the amazing twofers by our guest designers Carol, and Shawna and the rest of the team!

Gingerbread House Reveal Wheel

When I was a little girl, I didn't like the story of the gingerbread man.  He didn't seem very nice.  I suppose if everybody wanted to eat my head off, I wouldn't be so nice either.

Thankfully, these Tiny Gingerbread people are contained in the house.  I love the versatility of the new Build-A-House Gingerbread Add-on.  There are so many was it can be decorated!  I added a snowy walkway and lined it with gumdrops.  The gumdrop wreath is from the Christmas Build-A-House Add-on.  All of the white trim and Guava cardstock details were coated in Glossy Accents.

Have a look at the Lawn Fawn blog for many great examples using the new Tiny Gingerbread and Gingerbread House Add-on!

A New Ride for Santa!

Lawn Fawn's new Car Critters Christmas Add-on is particularly funny to me.   Our extended family gets together on Friday nights for game night.  When it's time to leave, someone always said, "watch out for deer." and "watch out for drunk drivers."  Over the years we've shortened that to, "Watch out for drunk deer."  These deer driving the car will definitely be on a birthday card next year for my brother!

In this case, the reindeer rebelled and requested an more modern mode of transportation:

I added Santa's head from Ho Ho Holidays to the boy's body from Screen Time.

I hope you're enjoying Lawn Fawn's inspiration week.  Check out all the great inspiration on the Lawn Fawn blog!

Shutter Snow Globe

The ideas are endless when it comes to shutter cards.  Today I made a simple version using Lawn Fawn's new Shutter Card Snow Globe Add-on.  I let the paper and the little scene be the focus.  This card would be so easy to reproduce for multiple Christmas cards.

The outside is also simply decorated with a snowflake on the band, and the Snowflake Border across the top and bottom of the card:
