SugarPea Designs August 2019 Mix It Up Challenge

So much to love in the SugarPea Designs challenge photo and sketch, I chose to use them both:

The bear and bird from Hey Summer were stamped in a light tan ink, colored with Copic markers, and cut out with the Hey Summer coordinating dies.  The main panel and stripes were cut with the stitched rectangle from the Card Front Element Builder.  The little hill was cut from the curved stitched hill die, also from the Card Front Element Builder.  The focal panel and hill were then cut with one of the Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles. The grass was ink blended as well as the background.  I then splattered the background with a bit more ink and white acrylic paint.  Finally, I stamped the top sentiment that is included in Hey Summer, and white heat embossed the bottom sentiment from Everyday Sentiments.

Supplies:
SugarPea Stamps: Hey Summer, Everyday Sentiments
SugarPea Dies:  Hey Summer, Card Front Element Builder, Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles
Ink: Memento Desert Sand, CP Lime Rickey, DI Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron, Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans, Black Soot, VersaMark
Copics: E30,31,33,35,37,44,49, W1,4, YR61,65, R05,08, Multi-liner .05

I hope you will join us this month over at SugarPea Designs for our Mix it Up Challenge!  Please check out the SugarPea Designs blog for more inspiration and all the details.

Lawn Fawn Tree Before 'N After

It's release week over at the Lawn Fawn blog and today we are featuring Tree Before 'N Afters.  This little bear love his apple tree in the fall!  After the apples are picked, he can climb up and hide within the leaves.  Once those leaves turn redder, and fall, he has a great leaf pile for jumping and tossing!  A bear's gotta have some fun before he sleeps away the winter!
I used the new LF Foursquare die and Fall Fling paper.  The scenes were cut out of white card stock and stamped in LF Crunchy Leaf ink to give them a softer look.  It's alcohol ink friendly, so I used Copic Markers, and then ink blended the edges with Distress Ink.

Lawn Fawn Supplies:
Stamps:  Tree Before 'N Afters, Coaster Critters, Smooth Sailing
Dies:  Foursquare Backdrop
Paper:  Fake Tan, Fall Fling
Ink:  Crunchy Leaf, Clear, also Distress Candied Apple and Mermaid Lagoon
Other: White embossing powder

Copics: C2, Y08,35, YR15, R05,14,24,27, YG03,61,63, G20, B0000, BG0000, E11,13,15,17,33,35,42,43,47,53,55

Enjoy the Journey

It's a great day for a ride in the wagon:

The birch trees and sentiment were stamped on a white card stock panel.  I drew a banner around the sentiment and "tied" it to the trees.  I free handed the ground and bushes.  The wagon and dogs were colored separately and fussy cut.  I love seeing the dogs through the slats of the wagon.

Supplies:
Stamps: Purple Onion Designs - Wags, Buddy (Running Dog), Birch Tree Background, Slat Wood Cart, Journey Sentiment Set
Copics:  E31,34,43,44,47,49,74,77,79, YG61,63,91,93,95,97,99, G24,46, BG0000,70,72, W0,1, C00,1,2,3, B60,63, BV08,25, Copic Multi-liner
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black

Lawn Fawn Flippin' Awesome Die Back to School Card

It's time to go back to school soon for my two teenage girls.  One loves it, and one, um, not so much.  Maybe a card of encouragement will help?  Oh, who am I kidding.  At least one of them will like the card:

I used Lawn Fawn's new Flippin' Awesome die to create the interactive four panel sentiment.  The cute little school icons are from the new LF Plan On It School stamp set.  The tiny heart, flower, and butterfly are from the new LF Tree Before 'N Afters.  I white heat embossed them on black for a chalk board look.

Lawn Fawn Supplies:
Stamps:  Plan On It School, Offset Sayings: Christmas, Tree Before 'N Afters
Dies:  Flippin' Awesome, Flippin' Awesome Add-on
Ink:  Clear
Paper: No2 Pencil, Chili Pepper, Nobel Fir, Moonstone, Black Licorice, Really Rainbow 6x6
Other: White embossing powder

Sitting and Thinking in the Garden

Sometimes it's good just to sit quietly and think...of you.

Twofer Card Challenge #19: Nautical

We're going nautical this month at the Twofer Card Challenge!  My twofer of choice is a mermaid stamp from MFT's Mermazing stamp set:
I spread alcohol ink on yupo paper and cut it out using that wavy cutter from Creative Memories that I purchased in 2001.  It's nice to still get use out of old tools.  The mermaid was colored with Copics, but then I covered her tail and accessories with Nuvo drops to see if I could get a good texture - meh.
On this next card, I masked around the fish bowl and stamped the images twice - inside the card, and on the front panel.  I cut a circle out of the fish bowl and added an acetate window.  I colored the edges of the scene on the front panel, and the inside scene to match.
This is the inside of the card:

Supplies:
Stamps: MFT Mermazing, Bitty Bears, Stampendous Sushi Bowl Party
Dies:Sizzix Circle die,
