The Twelve Kits of Occasions: June Edition

It's time to say good-bye to June with a big parade of cards as a send-off.  The Twelve Kits of Occasions was hosted by Birgit this month, and she gave us a kit full of gorgeous papers, fun images, and wonderful diecuts so we could have some "Summer Fun"!  Yes, that is the name of the kit, and now I am ready for all sorts of summer birthdays and activities.  Thank you, Birgit!

Starting with this little sweetheart!  I'm thinking that her favorite color is pink...
This penguin must be visiting Alaska and embracing the 4th of July celebration!
Birgit included the most beautiful set of summer patterned papers in this kit.  I fussy cut one of them and wrapped it around a stitched scallop rectangle of another.
These fruit slices that Birgit sent really put a smile on my face!
I love the pinks and greens for these watermelon papers.
This blue bird was so much fun to color.  I thought he went great with the worn worn grain paper.
This card was my take on Florida living.  Definitely not Wisconsin living!  I dream of being a snow bird.  I added a little Copic shading to the stamped images.
These pudgy little penguins are adorable!
This bird was cut out of another patterned paper.  He's the perfect focal point on this wreath.
I love these retro VW bugs so I created two simple birthday cards for some bug lovers I know.

 No photo description available.
If you got down this far, thank you for viewing!  Thanks, Birgit, for this kit full of summer fun!

Willa and Jackson Take a Walk - Video

Making this background was as easy as a walk in the park!  See below for a video demonstration:

These two friends and their balloons were colored with Copics, fussy cut, and placed on a Copic colored background that is set behind a die cut aperture.  Jackson's bubbles and bubble wand were cut away, and replaced with the balloon.

I made a video focused on how to create an easy background scene.  You can watch it here or on my YouTube Channel:

Ink Blended Sunset at the Fair - With Video

Having some fun ink blending today!  I made two cards that started the same way with masking the images and blending the background with Distress Ink.

On this first card, I went a little further by spritzing the ink with water, and Copic coloring the rest of the scene.
On this card, I left the masked images white to contrast the colorful sky.

I created a video to show how I masked and ink blended the sky using blending brushes.  You can see it here or on YouTube:

Stamps:  Purple Onion Designs Carnival Background, Journey Sentiment Set, A Beautiful Day Sentiment Set

Twofer Card Challenge #17: Bees

It's the bees knees over at the Twofer Card Challenge!  I didn't think I had any bee stamps, but as I looked through my stash, I found little bees included with several of my sets.  I chose the darling bee from PTI's Flower Favorites.

All of the images on the thank you card are from the Flower Favorites set.  I used PTI inks, and colored over them with Copic markers to add a little more shading and create the centers of the flowers.  I was happy to find that the PTI ink didn't transfer to the Copic nibs.

The next card, void of sentiment, is a thinking of you card.  Remember, for the Twofer Challenge, if your card doesn't have a sentiment on the front, you must state the intended occasion.

I wanted to mimic the look of a fabric pattern.  I used the Catherine Pooler Lattice Frame die, and cut out some of the lines to create larger diamonds.  The bees are heat embossed in gold.  The main panel is raised with foam.

I hope you will bee joining us for this fun Twofer Challenge!

Please stop by the Twofer Card Challenge blog to see some bee-utiful twofers from our talented guest designer, Coni, and design team!
