We Blend Well

My wrist is not well enough for house chores yet, only card making😉  Seriously, I am able to move it again, but taking it easy.  Thank you for all your prayers and well wishes.

I had fun with some loose DI water coloring.  The background shows through the blender as though it's liquid - kinda fun.  Not too much detailed Copic coloring required for this Valentine.

This card was created specifically with two card challenges in mind:
Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #21 for its hearts, sequins, and colors                     Fusion Card Challenge for its sketch.

Supplies:
Stamps:  LF So Smooth, Sweet Friends
Dies:  LF Lacy Borders, Scalloped Box Card Pop-up (stitched rectangle)
Copics: R3537 RV00,02,04
Inks: VersaMark, Memento Tuxedo Black, DI Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar, Candied Apple, Fired Brick
Other: SSS Fine detail white embossing powder, Michael's Heart confetti

Thanks so much for coming over to visit!  I hope you are having a wonderful day!

A Note of Thanks

I was Inspired by All the Little Things once again.  This time they set out a plate of pretty Valentine cookies and boy, do they look good!  I was inspired by many little things, including the colors, the birds, the foliage, and the quatrefoil.
I used all pearlized colored papers for a beautiful shine, but they don't like having their pictures taken.  They just glare at the camera!  I was able to capture two side views.

As I said, "yum!"  Thank you, Inspired by All the Little Things, for the inspiration!

Supplies:
Dies:  Poppy Stamps Exquisite Branch Frame, Chirping Birds, PTI Big Basics: Thanks
Stamps: HA  Studio Calico Lattice
Other:  VersaMark, SSS fine detail embossing powder, All papers of unknown origin

Looking Up

A sprained wrist kept me from coloring the last several days.  I'm not even sure how it happened.  Thankfully, I had colored these two giraffes last week and was able to assemble this card with mainly my left hand.  It really makes me grateful for the use of my right hand - something I just take for granted.

There's a wonderful sketch challenge and color challenge going on over at MFT:
MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 368

Twofer Card Challenge #1: Feathers

Welcome to my inaugural post for the Twofer Card Challenge!  We are excited to share our interpretations of the cue word "feathers", and even more excited to see your interpretations!

For my twofer, I chose a tiny bird from MFT's Happy Hippos stamp set.  I thought it would be fun to see how I could use this little image for two very different occasions.  A masculine birthday card, and a new baby card seemed to be a good stretch for me!
There are three little birds in the set.  I used the masking technique to group the three birds together and did some no-line coloring, hoping to give them a fluffy texture.
The sentiment was heat embossed on white and then ink blended to create the grass.  The chicks are all popped up with foam adhesive.  I drew in their little feet onto the grass with a colored pencil.
Next, I needed a 70th birthday card for my uncle.  Geometric patterned paper helped give this card a masculine feel.  The little bird stole the TH from birthday to make 70 into 70th.  I attached the thread to the back of the letters and his beak, then cut out a second beak and glued it over the thread.
The "birthday" was cut from both the gray and aqua paper to create an inlaid look and to emphasize that the TH came from there.  Did you know you can spell "happy" from "birthday"?  At least when they are all capitals like this.  I just cut the leg off the R to make the letter P.  The bird, numbers, and banner are popped up with fun foam.

Supplies:
Stamps:  MFT Happy Hippos (birds), MFT Welcome Baby (sentiment)
Dies: MFT Grassy Hills, Stitched Cloud Edges, Pierced Circle Frame, Blueprints 26, Big Numbers, SSS Congratulations (retired)
Copics:  0, Y00,08,11,13,15,19, YR04,65,68, R00,02, E44, BG11,70,72, Multi-liner .03
Paper: MFT Plaid Patterns, American Crafts Haunted Hallow, Basic Grey Hey Boy
Ink:  Memento Cantaloupe, VersaMark, Distress Ink Twisted Citron, Pumice Stone, Ground Espresso
Other:  SSS ultra fine white embossing powder, Crayola Mango colored pencil, brown thread, fun foam

I hope you will join us for this exciting new challenge!  Please head on over to the Twofer Card Challenge Blog to get all the details and to see the rest of the design team's creative interpretations.

You Make the World a Better Place

Over the weekend, I was inspired by many of my blogging friends' cards and the challenge blogs that inspired them.  I had a little time while the family was watching a movie last night to put this card together:
Kobi the bear was colored with Copics last week while we were on break.  The rest of the card fell together based on the following challenges:

Fusion - 4th Anniversary Challenge                                 Inspired by All the Little Things #77

A wonderful sketch paired with those adorable woodland creatures - sigh!
Not only was I inspired by the bear, but the whole storybook feel of the photo.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Studio Katia - Kobi the Birthday Bear, SSS - You Matter
Dies:  SSS - You
Paper:  My Mind's Eye - Stella and Rose, Basic Grey - Hey Boy
Copics:  E21,23,25,27,31,33, 35,37,49,50,51,53,55, C2,6, 100 - Yikes!  That's a lot of colors for just one bear!
Ink:  VersaMark, DI - Evergreen Bough
Other:  Fiskars Paper Edgers - Deckle, Creative Memories Corner Punch
