A Splashy Summer Birthday with Lawn Fawn's Swish 'N Pop | Video

 This mermaid is going to dive right in, thanks to Lawn Fawn's Swish 'N Pop pull tab:

 

Layers of Watercolor Wishes Rainbow 12x12 paper made it easy to create gradient waves.  Optional, but I added some ink blending and speckling to them.  The Giant Birthday Message was stamped with clear ink over the layers of waves, and heat embossed in white.  A secondary sentiment was also stamped and heat embossed the same way.

Acorn House Felt Banner and Matching Card

This week, over at the Lawn Fawn blog, we're sharing our favorites.  I have so many favorite Lawn Fawn stamps and dies, but one thing I've always loved since I was itty bitty, was miniature houses.  Lawn Fawn's Acorn House is so charming, I decided to create a felt welcome banner to match the decor of our living room:

Blanket stitch applique and French knots were used to secure some of the pieces, but I also used Aleen's Turbo Tacky glue to adhere everything together.

 
Here it's draped across our fireplace mantel.  The next photo shows it in context with the fireplace.  Yes, that's my family in the photo.  The girls were three and five when that was taken, but are now going to turn 18 and 20 this fall!

There are three different designs repeated across the banner.  It was fun to vary the placement of the little leaves and flowers that come with the Acorn House die set.

A Lawn Fawn SALE, A Flippin' Awesome Campfire and A Video

The kids were re-watching Monster's Inc. the other day, and the song during the end credits hit a chord with me, "I wouldn't have nothin' if I didn't have you" Ignoring the fact that it's a double negative, this statement is so true for me.  Even though I love my alone time, and maybe more than I should, I just wouldn't enjoy life on my own.  Each of these lonely campers come together at the end to find that "life is s'more fun with friends".

I stamped and heat embossed the stars onto Lawn Fawn's Watercolor Wishes Rainbow pattern paper, and ink blended them with DI Wilted Violet and Chipped Sapphire.  The 1" ground started as kraft cardstock ink blended and speckled with DI Gathered Twigs.  The trees from Build-A-Campsite were blended with DI Rustic Wilderness.  Everything Else was colored with Copics and cut out with their coordinating dies.

William at the Bakery | Color a Critter Series Video!

William loves a loaf of french bread and a bottle of wine - oh the carbs!  Not to worry, he offsets his intake with 10,000 steps a day, even though it would just be so much easier to fly:

 

The background is a combination of cool and warm grays along with a B60 and white gel pen.  I added a cobblestone street and attempted to move from a small to large scale fairly quickly to give accommodate William's size in relation to the background.

Carrying the neutral theme onto William, I made him into a sparrow, although he could be morphed into many bird species.  He was stamped colored, and fussy cut separately, but also stamped on the background so I didn't have to cut out his tiny legs.
