Choosing Copic Colors - A Video

I am often asked how I choose Copic colors.  I started with about five skin tones, and slowly, and I mean s-l-o-w-l-y, worked my way to a fairly hefty collection.  I am by no means an expert, but I do have an opinion - lol!
I created a video explaining my top 50 favorites and a method for using the colors you have based on charts and swatches.  You can watch it here or on my YouTube channel:
If you're interested, and/or newer to Copic Markers, I hope you will find the video helpful.
Thanks for coming over to visit!  I hope you have a great day!

  1. You have an awesome collection!!! I am still 's-l-o-w-l-y' building up mine, long way to go!

  2. EXCELLENT video Kara, although my Copic list has grown quite a bit after watching it!! Of your "must have 50" colors, I have 30 of them, so I still need another 20 to round out my group. Do you think they do GoFundMe for Copics?? I think I'll just have to s-l-o-w-l-y add them like you did! But anyway, great video...loved it!! :0)

  3. Kara, GREAT video...wish I had this before I started buying all the yummy colors that I couldn't live without! This may be sad, but I am only missing ONE color from your 50, but boy do I have a ton that you didn't list!! LOL Your cards are just stunning...I need another lesson, when can we get together *wink!

  5. I agree with Michele! I have purchased several that I ended up not liking. I look forward to your take on it!

  6. What a treat! Love that you shared your knowledge about selecting Copics. I also haven't started a chart so that should be a big help too. I took the Introductory Copic class ages ago when they offered it here but do my coloring without much careful planning. I often get Michael's gift certificates and usually use them for Copics. Their selection is pretty limited though. I took notes on your recommendations so I can add ones that are available there.

  7. While I don't have Copics, Cara, I know everyone can benefit from your opinion since I've seen the wonders that you do with them.

  8. Brilliant, Kara ... what a great video! When you shared your Top Fifty with us at the Lake House, it was all new and a little mind blowing for a complete novice like me ... seeing it again has helped to answer the subsequent questions I've found myself asking. Even had my cheat sheet next to me while watching! Thank you, sweet friend ... always great to hear your voice and share in your expertise! Miss you ... big hugs, Anita :)
