Water Skiing at the Lake with Purple Onion Designs

My grandparents owned a resort in Northern Wisconsin and the lake looked very much like this one, except for the mountains - picture thick pine woods instead.  I learned to water ski on that lake behind a red speed boat with a white stripe.  See those water skis?  Yep, they were red with white too!  Ah, does this bring back memories!  Even that peninsula was part of the resort.  We would have campfires out there.  Later, my uncle and aunt took over running the resort and I spent my summers through high school and college working there - cleaning cabins, waiting on tables, washing dishes, and teaching kids how to ski.  That resort holds some of the best memories of my life.
I used Copics to color everything plus a white gel pen for the wake and water splashes.  I'll wait and put the sentiment on the inside once I know the occasion.  I love that this can fit almost anything fun and enjoyable.

Purple Onion Designs stamps: Lake, Maverick and Miki, Gladys

The entire release, including 25 stamps (27 images in all) plus six sentiments, is available as a bundle at a discount of 30% through May 31st.

Head on over to Purple Onion Designs to check out all the new fabulous images illustrated by Stacey Yacula!

New Slimline Dies from Lawn Fawn!

The new Lawn Fawn slimline card dies are here and so is the Village Heroes stamp set with coordinating dies!  Even while we sleep, those medical marvels are out there saving lives, and I'm so grateful!

There are some wonderful interactive elements with the new slimline sets.  I used the Stitched Slimline Hillside Borders, One of the new sliders from Large Slimline with Sliders, and the stitched rectangle from Small Slimline with Lift the Flaps.

After I cut out the hill, I flipped over the negative piece and used it as a mask to ink blend the road.  The background and hills were both white heat embossed, ink blended, and the sky was speckled with white and silver paint.  The card base was ink blended in the middle to match the sky, and the panel was popped up to make room for the slider element.  The hospital and ambulance are both white heat embossed and colored with Zig Clean Color Brush markers.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Village Heroes, Super Star
Dies:  Village Heroes, Large Slimline with Sliders, Small Slimline with Lift the Flaps, Slimline Stitched Hillside Borders
Ink: LF Clear, DI Mowed Lawn, Forest Moss, Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans, Dusty Concord
Other:  Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors White, Silver, LF white embossing powder, Life Changing Blending Brushes, Zig Clean Color Brush markers, 3M foam tape

SugarPea Designs Sweet Peek Week - Day 4

It's day four of Sweet Peek Week over at SugarPea Designs featuring a gorgeous new floral, and beautiful handwriting stamps:

I colored the envelope full of flowers with Copic markers, then covered them with a mask made out of the coordinating die, stamped the background stamp over it with DI Scattered Straw, and then ink blended the edges with the same ink.
