A New Autumn Stamp by Stacey Yacula for Purple Onion Designs

This bunny and mouse were excited to find a battery operated tea light for their pumpkin. 
I tell you this so you won't be alarmed about two vermin playing with fire.

This is all one image.  The openings of the pumpkin are solid, so when stamped in black, they would be solid black. 
I inked it up with Lawn Fawn's Jellyfish ink so I could color it to make it look like it was glowing on the inside.

The image was colored with Copic markers, and then I added Black Soot Distress Ink to the edges. 
I was going for a sketchy look of darkness, so I left some white showing.

An Evening Treat

Warm evenings and ice cream will soon be a fond memory as the nights start to get colder here in Wisconsin.  I could stand for a warmer fall and spring, but I do love our summers here.

Juliet and Austin were colored with Copic markers and fussy cut.  Austin's legs cut and moved so he could sit on the picnic bench.  I masked the lanterns and ink blended the background with Distress Oxides.  The sentiment was white heat embossed and the tops were inked with Copic Marker.  The lanterns were colored yellow with regular Distress Ink using a finger dauber.  I then used the dauber and yellow acrylic paint to create the circular glow around the lanterns

Fish Are Friends with Purple Onion Designs

These two make for a colorful pair under the sea!  I elongated the Ocean Floor stamp scene to fit on a slimline card.  All of the images are from Purple Onion Designs illustrated by Shari Bresciani.

Everything was colored with Copic markers and fussy cut.  The background was ink blended with Distress Oxides.  The sentiment was heat embossed in white.

Twofer Card Challenge #31: Trees

Festive Fall or Winter Wonderland?  How about both!  It's time for a new challenge over at the Twofer Card Challenge blog, and the prompt this month is trees.  My tree of choice is actually a die cut row of trees and houses called Forest Village by Poppystamps (retired).

I die cut the trees twice from sparkly blue cs and cut them away from the houses to create a longer row of trees.  I glued the trees onto white cs and added Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste with a Nuvo spatula.  The hills were created with Lawn Fawn Hillside stencils and ink blended with LF Kiddie Pool ink.  The sentiment also comes from LF, Offset Sayings: Christmas, stamped in both Kiddie Pool ink and clear embossing powder. 

Here I kept the die cut in its original form, paper piecing the insides with fall colors and white for the windows.  I then ink blended over it with DI Gathered Twigs.  The background is chipboard embossed with Taylored Expressions Chevron cover die, also blended with Distress ink.  The hugs die cut is an older one from PTI.

Lawn Fawn Tiny Gift Box Hedgehogs

Hedgehogs are the latest add-on for Lawn Fawn's Tiny Gift Box! 
Mr. and Mrs. Hedgeworth are all dressed up to go out steppin'.  They're meeting the Hedgingtons down at the club.  

I die cut the boxes and add-ons from kraft cardstock, then used acrylic paint to shade and add texture.

The flowers and leaves are from Lawn Fawn's new Acorn House Lawn Cut, and the bow tie is from the previously released Raccoon and Fox Add-On.  I cut the pieces, and the cheeks from felt.

The hedgehog dies have little quill details. Looking closely, it's possible to see them sticking up all around their bodies.

Lawn Fawn Fall/Winter Release Inspiration Week Continues

Lawn Fawn's new Acorn House is full of fun embellishments!  There are three sizes of leaves, and lots of little flourishes.  This acorn house is all decked out for fall with Lawn Fawn's new Gold Metallic cardstock and a background of Into the Woods Remix 6x6 papers.

Three of the squirrels from Let's Go Nuts, and one of the "Thanks" from Thanks Thanks Thanks were gold heat embossed and cut out with the coordinating Lawn Cuts.  The squirrels were stamped on Kraft cardstock, and the "Thanks" on patterned paper.  The blue leaves are white cardstock colored with BG02 and BG72 Copic markers.

Simon Says Stamp and Lawn Fawn Together for Stamptember!

I hope your Stamptember is going well!  I'm sharing a fun set from Lawn Fawn for Simon Says Stamp called Season's Tweetings.  I can think of so many ways to use this stamp set, and here's one of them:

The background was white heat embossed and ink blended with Distress Oxides.  I masked off the Christmas lights before I ink blended, and colored them in with Copic markers.  I then took a finger dauber and Distress Paint and dabbed color over the lights to create a glow.  The birds were stamped, die cut, and colored with Copic markers.  I extended the glow of the Christmas lights onto their bodies with Copic markers.

Thankful X Three for Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week

Thanks Thanks Thanks is one of the new stamp sets in Lawn Fawn's fall/winter release, and it quickly became one of my favorite sentiment sets!  I paired it here with the new Into the Woods Remix 6x6 papers to set up a little fall scene:

I shaded the stump and colored the squirrel with Copic markers.  The leaves are from the new Acorn House.

It's Almost Time To Hibernate, but Not Until After Lawn Fawn's Fall/Winter Release!

Each year, as the days grew shorter and colder, I told my kids that it was time for me to hibernate.  It was sort of a game where they would come up with all the reasons I shouldn't, and I would reply, "okay, I'll wait until after ____ (whatever they mentioned)."  By the time we finished, they had me staying up all the way to spring, and then it wasn't worth hibernating.  I wrote it into a children's story that I hope one day gets published - okay, I can dream.

Lawn Fawn's Den Sweet Den is a new stamp set filled with images to create quite a cozy home.  I used the new Stitched Dens to create a cave for this sleeping mamma and baby bear. 

Their neighbor squirrel is also cozy in her own den in the nearby tree created from the new Lift the Flap Tree Backdrop.

The bears, squirrel, and the inside of their dens were colored with Kuretaki Gansai Tambi watercolors and the den and tree were ink blended with Distress Ink.

Going Nuts Over Lawn Fawn's Fall/Winter Release!

These squirrels hit the mother load!  They are so proud of themselves for finding that gigantic acorn in the middle wagon (unfortunately the next door neighbor is now missing one of her plastic fall lawn ornaments).

Lawn Fawn is featuring Let's Go Nuts and Big Acorn stamp sets along with the Lift the Flap Tree Backdrop today.  I used some new slimline border dies that will be featured a little later.

The papers are from the new Into the Woods Remix and Let It Shine 12x12 collections.  I love these 12x12 paper packs for creating slimline scenes!

The squirrel on the right stopped pulling his wagon in order to express his excitement, so I cut the handle off the wagon to position it on the ground.

Sending Birthday Fishes with Purple Onion Designs

I love the look of crystal blue ocean water.  I also have a bit of a fear about what's living underneath those waves, so I'm happy to stick to lake and pool swimming.  This little mermaid and her friends were illustrated by Shari Bresciani for Purple Onion Designs.  If I knew they were the only things I'd see in there, I might just go in that water!
