The leaves on the second card were die cut from PTI colored card stock. I originally water colored the houses with Kuretaki watercolors but they were too bright so I inked everything over with DI Fossilized Amber turning reds to orange and aqua to green. A bit of DI Gathered Twigs was also added. The leaves got a dose of Fossilized Amber as well.

Love both of your leafy lovelies Kara! The leaves colored with brushos are stunning just as they are. I'm especially fond of the cluster of leaves beneath your row houses. It's so charming! The addition of DI on top of the water coloring adds so much depth. Two beautiful inspiration pieces here Kara. Enjoy your fall!

These are both fabulous, Kara! The variegated colour on your brusho leaves is gorgeous ... such rich, deep tones ... so lovely against the dark card base! What an inviting neighbourhood scene ... you created a brilliant autumnal feel to it with the fossilised amber wash and that wonderful tumble of fallen leaves! Hugs, Anita :)

ReplyDeleteI always learn something from you, Kara! I would never have thought to overink an image like you did with the amber DI in order to tamp down the coloring! Brilliant! The result is truly perfect colors for fall! It's so cool how the roof on that middle house looks like aged copper! Bonus!! And your birthday card design is super rich with those bold grape colors that just pop against the black! I also love that sediment border with the rounded corners!! Hugs, Darnell
