This little cupcake is animated with a stamped face and feet (included in the set). The icing was popped up on craft foam. The sentiment was stamped on a white die cut speech bubble, layered with a speech bubble frame of craft foam, then a speech bubble of acetate, and then a speech bubble frame in CS. I glued some of the sprinkles inside the shaker so they could be "flying" about even when the card isn't moving. The background sprinkles were stamped with LF Clear ink and a stamp from the same Sweet Friends set.
This "You're Sweet" card is a thank you card. The "doily" was created with both the Quilted Backdrop die, and the Fancy Scallop Rectangle die. The line border sentiment was die cut twice, and the blue portion was "sugared" with glitter. The cupcake top was also double layered and sugared with glitter. The little flowers are from the LF Spring Fling patterned paper. I outlined them in black to match the look of the stamped images, fussy cut them, and sugared them too. To keep all that sweet sugar at bay, I added Glossy Accents over the glitter, but as you can see on the cupcake, it cracked under the pressure - lol!

Kara, the sprinkles are perfect for a shaker card, and so darling. The clear sprinkles on background add a lovely depth. Your fancy and sparklie cupcake is sitting pretty on that doily and makes for a darling thank you.
ReplyDeleteThese are both as sweet as can be! The sprinkles in your shaker card look like real sprinkles. Two totally different looks using that darling cupcake image!
ReplyDeleteWell, Odessa, (pronounced Kara), these are just about the sweetest, most darling cupcakes ever. That shaker card...OMGoodness! First, the colors are happy. And those sprinkles...they make the most fun, fun birthday card and I'm working hard to not "add to cart," lol!! (I'll probably give in anyway...). But let's not forget about that sweetly glittered up cupcake on the doily. It looks like it belongs in a bakery window! Such cool, happy and fun cards my friend. LOVE them!! Hope you're having fun. Sending hugs.xoxo Bev
ReplyDeleteI finally got my hands on some of those sprinkles the other day and I adore the way you have used them, thanks again for the inspiration!
ReplyDeletePerfect, Kara! That is one very happy looking cupcake for the birthday card. Dang, love those totally authentic looking sprinkles and your clever idea of gluing some in place. The sugary confection on your second card hardly even looks like the same cupcake, it's dressed up so prettily. Sweet, indeed, and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteTwo sweet, SWEET cards Kara!! (sorry, just couldn't resist the "sweet" line!) But seriously, both of these cards are absolutely ADORABLE! Your cupcake shaker card with all the sprinkles just had me melting, and your CAS white on white with just a tiny bit of color sparkly cupcake totally had me wanting a nice little cupcake to munch on! Neither of your cards could be any sweeter, so you definitely aced this challenge my friend!! Hugs. :0)

Miss you like mad!! Hugs, Darnell
