Twofer Card Challenge #26: Rain/Umbrella

Are you ready for a new Twofer Challenge?!  Our theme this month is rain/umbrella.  My image of choice is this puppy, Buddy, from Penny Black's Buddy and Duck stamp set.
Buddy looked like he could walk a tight rope with the way he was holding that umbrella, so I let him try it out on this birthday card.  I was going to stamp water and a shark fin under him, but decided to give him a break since he's working without a net.
Buddy and Duck are fast friends in this next card.  I paper pieced their umbrellas and ink blended the sky with a cloud stencil.

I hope you will join us for this fun challenge!  Please head on over to the Twofer Card Challenge blog to get some wonderful inspiration from our guest designers, TK and Rosi, and the team!

  2. More beautiful paper piecing and I just love your sense of humor with not giving Buddy the water and shark fin added to your birthday card! Two FABULOUS cards Kara...love them both!! Hugs. :0)

  3. What a fun story you wove around Buddy on the tightrope, Kara ... what a great scene ... his balance is wonderful! So pleased he didn't have to deal with the sharks!! Those jolly brollies keeping Ducky and Buddy dry are so pretty, great paper piecing and lovely detailing! Hugs, Anita :)

  4. So cute, Kara. Who would have thought to have a dog walk a tightrope? Clever you, that's who.

  5. Good eye, Kara! Buddy really does look like he's spent years at the family carnival, walking that rope and thrilling audiences from town to town! He's a calm as a cucumber! (Now, see, how do we really know cucumbers are calm? In my family, when my SIL went through her vegan stage, we used to say "peas have feelings, too," but we were just kidding. Now, I'm thinking maybe they do. I mean, if cucumbers can feel, why can't peas?) And I can see that when Buddy is off-duty as a tightrope walker, he changes fur to go spend the afternoon with his duckie friend, rain or shine! What a great card of friendship ~ and awesome piecing and cloud stenciling!! Take care and stay safe, my friend! Hugs, Darnell

  6. I bet Buddy wouldn't have a smile on his face if you had added sharks! He looks so confident and sure footed on his wire. Such a cute story and fantastic idea for the tightrope. You are so clever. I'm glad he's safe back on the ground hanging with his friend, Duck. Pretty umbrellas.
