Lawnfawnatics Challenge: Spectacular Skies - Guest Designer

I am excited to announce that today I am guest designing for Lawnfawnatics latest challenge: Spectacular Skies!  Do you ever look for shapes in the clouds?  I decided to make a few cloud shapes of my own.  Do they look Lawn Fawmiliar to you?
The pull tab allows the airplane to fly through the clouds:
The images were stamped with a light blue ink and the rest of the clouds were drawn in with the help of the Cloudy Hillside Pop Up Add-On.  Pencil lines were erased as the clouds and images were colored with Copic Markers.  The sentiment is from Elphie Selfie, curved to match the airplane banner, and both were silver heat embossed.  I extended the track so that the airplane can fly further, and colored the paper behind the track to match the front.  The panel is matted on a layer that is edged with silver embossing powder.

I hope you will join in on this fun challenge!  Hop on over to Lawnfawnatics for all of the details and amazing inspiration by the design team!

Tag, You're It! Challenge #87: Spring Colors

Tag, You're It! has a new challenge beginning today and our theme is "spring colors".  I loved the whimsical image that Nancy chose for the inspiration photo, so I decided to play in that direction:
For the life of me, there was no way to photograph this tag to its full potential.  The mushroom caps are coated with Glossy Accents and they would not cooperate with the camera without distorting the colors.
Isn't that a lovely image?  You can see all the tags inspired by it, and get the full details over at Tag, You're It!  I hope you will join in on the fun!

Supplies:
Dies:  LF Mushroom Border, LF Tag, You're It
Other: Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor 61,50,34,139, Making Memories fibers, Glossy Accents

Twofer Card Challenge #16: Things With Wheels

Wheels are turning over at the Twofer Card Challenge blog!  I chose to highlight Tiddly Inks Cute as a Bug for my two cards.
The first card has an interactive tab for the car to drive across, revealing the sentiment behind it like car exhaust.  The slider fits between two foam adhesive "tracks" under the grass on both sides of the road.

With two teenage daughters, I know the nest will be empty all too soon.  I also know that they are going to shine wherever they go.  I added Glossy Accents to the main word and to the bug.  The sun rays were blended with a little Wild Honey DI.

I hope you wheel join us for this challenge!  Head on over to the Twofer Card Challenge blog to see some wheely great cards created by our amazing guest designers, Hilary Jane and Cornelia, and our design team.

Now mind you, the coffee is not in the cup with the pup.  It's inside on a gift card, phew!

In the Corn Field with Purple Onion Designs' Sunny Meadow Fair Collection

Purple Onion Designs is celebrating it's new stamp release by Stacy Yacula.  There is a discount for the bundled set of the full collection going on now until May 15th.  I am excited to share a card that takes us to the cornfield and beyond:

I started by coloring a background of fields in the distance, then created a dirt hill for the corn field.  The corn was colored and cut several times, along with one scarecrow.  The corn was adhered directly on the background, but the scarecrow is on foam adhesive.  The fence and sunflowers were colored and cut as a front panel on foam adhesive.  The Chicken and chicks are also colored, cut, and adhered with foam adhesive

Every summer growing up, my family would take a seven hour drive from the Chicagoland area to Southern Illinois to visit my dad's family.  On those long trips we would pass miles and miles of corn.  The saying goes, "knee-high by the fourth of July", which was a way of measuring how well the crops were growing.  My dad would take a puff from his pipe, exhale, and mistakenly say, "The corn is knee-high by July the fourth."  As kids, you can be sure that we wouldn't forget it, we always laughed and laughed, repeated it a million times, and it became our new saying, even to this day.  So funny what one remembers from childhood.
Supplies:
Stamps:  Purple Onion Design Fence, Scarecrow, Corn Stalks, Sunflowers, Hen, Chicks

Introducing Purple Onion Designs' Sunny Meadow Fair by Stacey Yacula!

I am excited to share the news that I am now designing with Purple Onion Designs!  Not only that, but I get to begin this new adventure by helping to introduce the newest release from Stacey Yacula!
Purple Onion Designs is offering the entire collection - all 24 stamps (30 individual images) at a 30% discount until Wednesday, May 15th.
I think I'm as giddy as these two in the roller coaster:

Growing up in the 80s, I loved old musicals, and one of my favorites was State Fair (1945 version).  Other girls wanted to be Madonna, but I wanted to be Margie Frake, played by Jeanne Crain, live in an old farm house, wear lovely dresses, and meet a mature handsome man at the fair.  Okay, now I watch the movie and yell at her, "Are you crazy!  You only just met this guy!  You can't marry him and run away to Chicago!"  Ah, youth...

I stamped and masked the roller coaster image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and then stamped the background with a second generation of the same ink.  Everything was colored with Copics.  Then I heat embossed the sentiment in white and colored a slight shadow with a Copic marker.

I have two videos of this card.  The first one is full of tips about coloring the roller coaster and background, and the second video highlights the coloring of the pig and the bird.  You can watch them here or on YouTube.

Supplies:
Stamps: Purple Onion Designs Roller Coaster, Fairgrounds Background, Birthday Sentiment
Copics: C0, E21,23,25,27,29,40,50,51, R000,00,02,20,21,22,24,27,29,59, Y21,23,26,28, RV000,00,10,11, G40,43,46,94, BG0000,000,70,72,10,11,13,23,45
Ink and Other:  Memento Tuxedo Black, VersaMark, Zing white embossing powder
