Twelve Kits of Occasions: May

I'm never ready to say good-bye to our one month of spring, but it is the last day of May, and I'm happy to share my cards from the wonderful kit that our friend, Tracey, put together:

I love gerbera  daisies, so I was excited that Tracey included this Essentials by Ellen Mondo Gerbera Daisy.  I colored mine coral using Copic markers:
I used an ink blended background that was sitting on my desk to highlight this teacher and her apple:
I've always wanted to try this Lawn Fawn Reveal Wheel, so this was another exciting surprise in Tracey's kit:
Growing up, we had a camper similar to this one.  It was tiny!  Of course I had to color the car just like the 1971 Chevy Caprice that we had to pull it.  Here's a photo I found on the web - looks just like it!

I love this big pencil Tracey included.  She even cut it out of the Lawn Fawn Schoolyard paper collection which includes the colors #2 Pencil, and Pencil Eraser.  I shaded it in warm greys.
The previous card and next five, include the amazing Lawn Fawn plaid papers from the kit.  Tracey even cut feathers out of it!  Almost all of these cards were created entirely with the elements from the kit.

The darling kids on my next two cards may don some mortar boards in the future, depending on how I decide to use these cards.

That's a wrap!  I had a lot fun with this kit!  Thank you, Tracey!  Please head on over to the 12 Kits of Occasions blog for the list of supplies, and to see how my teammates interpreted this kit!

  1. Fabulous Kara! Each and every one of your cards is as sweet as can be! The coloring on your daisy is amazing and so striking against the black background. Your reveal wheel card is great too. What fun that must have been to go camping in a little camper like that. You made great use of all these wonderful plaids in Tracey's kit. All your cards are adorable!!

  2. Okay Kara I am giving you and A+ because you completely rocked this kit! Wow wow wow! I love every single card so much! I can't wait to colour another daisy in corals just like you did, so beautiful! The rainbow background looks so fab with the teacher--LOVE! That LF Happy Trails stamps set evokes memories in so many people, I love that you found the car online and I love the addition of the hills on your Reveal Wheel!! The shading on the pencil is probably my favourite thing you did--it looks just like a loved pencil you would find in a little kids desk!!! Of course the remaining five cards are all so super cute. so glad you had so much fun with the kit my friend!

  3. Kara, all of your cards are so awesome, but one of my favorites is the daisy, imagine that. Lol...The rest are just so adorable.

  4. WOW, WOW, WOW Kara!! You definitely rocked this kit!! LOVE your Gerbera Daisy in the coral and against the black background...oh how I love how it pops!! And speaking of popping, your rainbow blended background totally makes your teacher pop...FABULOUS card!! Loving your reveal wheel card too and of course the photo of the car...we had a 1970 Chevy Impala that was dark green and we used to call it the "boat" because it was sooo long! (It pulled our wheelcamper pop up tent camper) Ahhhhh, the memories!! I love ALL your cards with the plaid papers too...and especially the pencil! LOVE how you shaded it and I am so going to CASE you on that one! Yep, you definitely rocked this kit and I'm giving you an A+ too!! :0)

  5. Holy cow Miss Kara...your totally rocked Tracey's incredible kit, you hit this one out of the park! Love all your incredible cards, each one a master piece! Love your spinner card, just as sweet and as fun as can be. Love how you added those sweet clouds! Your blended rainbow behind the school girl is amazing and your stunning flower is over the top beautiful!

  7. Looks like you have had some fun here for sure!

  8. Oh what lovely cards!! I like how you used the old car to color the card with the camper. Such fun design!!

  9. So FABULOUS--you really rocked this month's kit! I always have to scroll up and down numerous times to take in all the amazing details. It's been such fun to see everyone's Mondo daisy. Love your coral color! And your teacher is especially sweet with a rainbow background. Gosh, you even shaded your pencil! Love your adorable camping scene and TFS that car photo. What a sweet memory! As always, thanks for all the inspiration!! Now I'm glad I have more supplies!

  10. Wow.... the shading you did on the large pencil is amazing Kara! Love how you colored your car same as the one you had when you were little and what a darling card it is! ( Imessed mine up with coloring:( ) What a good idea to take the smaller image octopus and turn it into a tag card, love that one! I am still in awe of your shading on the pencil and how real it looks and what a difference it makes!
I also can’t believe June is here!
    Take care sweet friend!

  11. Excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the floor!! Your coloring is always exceptional Kara and once again you've knocked my socks off. The background you've given the teacher is a real treat, but OH MY STARS...that jumbo pencil...SWOON!!

  12. I'll bet Tracey is so appreciative of how productive and creative you were with her kit, Kara! As you know, a lot of time and effort and product goes into putting one together and you have impressed me no end with how much time and effort and talent you put into brilliantly using all of the generous goodies! Each one is spectacular!! I left you a voice message, but hubby might have deleted it thinking it was some crank call cuz I was using my gangsta voice, lol! Talk soon! Hugs, Darnell

  13. You made such good use of this kit. I always love coming here to see what you do each month. Love that plaid paper and that pencil is awesome. I remember those cars with the long fins. We had one too but it was a Chrysler.

  14. Oh my goodness, you really went to town with this cute kit, Kara ... what a brilliant collection! Fabulous plaids ... love the gerbera (a favourite of mine too) ... and that rainbow background is just delicious behind the teacher! Cute camper ... and what a cool car your family had ... so stylish ... and so huge! Big hugs and bisous, Anita :)
