On my Christmas card, I stamped the holly, fussy cut them, and silver heat embossed the edges. The berries were die cut from red cs with a dot of silver embossing. The panel was dry embossed with the addition of a circle diffuser so that I could stamp and heat emboss the sentiment on a flat surface.
On the thank you card, the holly, berries, and sprigs of pine were stamped using the MISTI so they could be re-stamped to shade with darker ink. The card base was flipped so the cluster is the same on the bottom left as it is on the upper right. The panel was ink blended with PTI Ocean Tides and then speckled with the same ink, watered down and flicked on with a stiff paint brush. The panel was then die cut with a stitched rectangle.

These are lovely, Kara. Two wonderful designs and festive too. I forgot all about using a diffuser. I have one someplace and don't think I've ever used it. Now I see what it can do and I love the way you used it. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Brenda, Kara, I have forgotten all about my package of diffusers! Thank you for bringing them back; they are so great for leaving a space for the sediment. I adore both your designs because I've got a deep love for all things holly and evergreen! All the schplatter, heat and dry embossing, and die-cut details are beautiful! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteA very lovely card with the pretty greenery! Beautiful embossing and colors! Wonderful sentiments and soft splatters! Awesome cards as always, Kara!!
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful cards, Kara. I'm not sure if I have ever seen a card from you that wasn't colored with Copics. Hope all is well with you.
ReplyDeleteDiffuser...don't have any, but I can see that they're going on my wishlist. Both of your cards have me going, "*sigh*." What gorgeous greens you've used. The holly looks like you plucked it and laid it on your card. Love the silver embossed edges, too. Those bits of red in the berries adds just the right amount of pop to your cards, too. Extremely delightful, Yvette (pronounced Kara)! xoxoxo (any snow hitting you tonight?) Bev
ReplyDeleteJust absolutely gorgeous, times two - million!!! xx
ReplyDelete=]
Two gorgeous cards using the holly berry images. They are so well designed and I love that one is a Christmas card and the other is a thank you card.
ReplyDeleteThese are stunningly beautiful Kara. The gray is such a fabulous card base color to set off your lovely greenery. YOur stamped thankyou is equally lovely.
ReplyDeleteThat's a really nice idea to give holiday themed thank you cards at Christmas to certain people. I like that idea. A little gift and a thank you card... thinking I might do that for my hairdresser. Stamped or die cut, these are so pretty and with such lovely colors. Cool embossing folder. You are a gifted crafter!
ReplyDeleteKara, these are as beautiful they are elegant!
ReplyDeleteKara... all I can say is WOW! Both cards are amazing and absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful cards. Love the design of each one and especially the sentiment and the design of the first one. TFS
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Kara, and I love that you flipped the image on diagonal corners! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThese are just beautiful and such perfect representations of the twofer challenge where you used the same product and arrive at such dramatically different cards! It is always so inspiring to visit your blog!!
ReplyDeleteElegant and gorgeous, Kara ... both of them! What a brilliant idea to use the diffuser for that beautiful sentiment ... the surrounding texture is luscious ... and the silver edged holly and dotted berries are stunning! Love the dimension you created with the two tone stamping ... the greenery frames that bold scripty sentiment beautifully! Thinking of you, my friend, and praying that life is settling down a little for you! Big hugs and bisous, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteJust popping in to say that I think your cards are stunning and I love them x.
ReplyDeleteHolly never looked so good, Kara. I love it stamped and die cut.
