Sparkle and Shine and a Little Update

Funny crafting story to share:
A few years ago, when our two girls transitioned from young girls to teenagers, I redecorated their bathroom.  It's actually the hall bathroom which is the main one in the house.  I gave it a glitzy look with an aqua and silver color scheme, with jewels as an accent.  I needed some artwork and found some jewel framed mirrors that fit well.  Being all crafty, I designed and cut the words "Sparkle and Shine" out of silver glitter vinyl and adhered them to the mirrors.

Every Friday is game night at our house with my brother's family including my two college-aged nephews (now out of college).  The first Friday after the bathroom remake, one nephew came out of the bathroom a bit bewildered.  "Auntie Kara, you obviously didn't design that bathroom with guys in mind."  Hmm, I never really thought about anyone standing to do their business there in front of mirrors, let alone ones saying, "Sparkle and Shine"!  Ah well, the mirrors remain and it's become a good joke.  Maybe you had to be there, but I thought it was worth sharing with my crafty friends.

Now that the entire family is quarantined together, I find myself having to step up my duties as wife, mother, and daughter (my mother lives with us too).  I want to take advantage of this bad situation by making the most of my time with them.  It's leaving very little time for my own cyber social interaction and definitely putting a damper on my crafting time.  I know I am incredibly blessed to have them with me, but I feel it's important to let you know in case you haven't heard from me in a while.  I have many posts scheduled well into May, so the blog will continue to be up and running.
Stay safe, my dear friends!  You mean the world to me!
Thanks for coming over to visit!
May the Lord bless you today!
Kara

  2. I know it is stressful, Kara, but knowing that you have each other close must be comforting, too. Thanks for the update... no worries about visits! Take care of you, and your loved ones - way more important!
You should have supplied props for the boys - like boas and crowns, so they'd fit in!!! lol xx

  5. Kara I love your story, what a fun one to tell. I am laughing pretty hard at what a boy might think of the glitzy sparkle and shine on the wall. Well done! Yes these are very uncertain times. I am incredibly thankful that my daughter finished university and moved back home a week prior to being quarantined. Stay well my friend!
