Coffee Lover's Fall/Winter Blog Hop

I'm squeaking in at the last minute to join the Coffee Lovers 2018 Fall/Winter bloghop.  Earlier, when I made this card, I had also made a coffee to-go cup in anticipation of this event, and then almost forgot to post it!

The cup and lettering was cut using the Silhouette.  The letters were inked up with DI Tea Dye, but I replaced the letters without ink.

Supplies:
Dies:  Poppystamps Verona Flourish, Silhouette cut file Coffee Cup Gift Card Set and Silhouette generated font Bernard MT Condensed (curved slightly)
Paper:  PTI Royal Velvet, Light Craft CS - Company unknown,  Neenah Solar White 110# for card base, water color paper
Ink:  Distress Ink Tea Dye,  Brusho Purple, Scarlet, Brilliant Red

This card is happily joining the time honored seasonal Coffee Lover's Bloghop!  Where would the coffee loving crafters be without it!
Thanks for coming over to visit!  I hope you are having a great day!

I Was Mooved

Art Impressions sent me a stamp set of my choice as a gift for receiving an honorable mention on their challenge blog.  How generous of them!  I was so excited to get the set Udderly Fantastic and made this card to thank them.
The "ladies" were colored with Copics, fussy cut, and attached with a mini wobbler (see the action-packed video below).

Thanks so much, Art Impressions!
I'm going to enter this card in their latest contest:  #246 Anything Goes.  I mean, why not?

Supplies:
Stamps:  Art Impressions Udderly Fantastic
Dies:  Mama Elephant Thanks Script, Spellbinders Circle
Computer generated sentiment in Word using Kristen ITC font.

Twofer Card Challenge #11: Wreath

Wreath is the word for a very festive Twofer Card Challenge this month!  I chose the Lawn Fawn Mini Wreath for my two cards.
This first card looks like a Christmas greeting card:
But it's an invitation...
To a white elephant party!
The elephant and background were colored with Copics and adhered behind the door with 1/4" scor-tape. The door and steps were added on top of a dry embossed background.  I free hand cut some snow drifts to create a walk way and placed the door mat at the bottom.  The wreath was cut once out of cs and once out of glitter paper.  The bow and berry dies come in the mini wreath die set.  A stylus was used to fluff up the bow.

This fall thank you card was created by die cutting squares, then die cutting the wreath out of each square, and replacing each wreath in a different square.  I added another square on the back of each of them to adhere the inlayed pieces together, then arranged them on a piece of kraft cs the size of my 5" x 6,5" card base.  I cut off the overlapping wreaths with a paper trimmer and added the die cut sentiment.
Supplies:
Dies:  Lawn Fawn Mini Wreath, Lawn Fawn Shut the Front Door, MFT Stitched Rounded Squares, PTI Thanks
Stamps:  Lawn Fawn Wild for You, MFT Bitty Bears (party sentiment)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics:  BG70,72, C00,0,1, R24,27,29,39
Other:  Sizzix Tim Holtz distressed brick embossing folder

We've made a change in the challenge to include stencils as an option for your prompt element:

The design team and our guests, Carol L, and Sybrina, have come up with some amazing ways to use wreaths!  I hope you will click over to the Twofer Card Challenge blog to be inspired and join in on the fun!

Nancy's Girls

Wow, two posts in one day!  Usually I struggle to post twice in a week!  In my attempt to make cards from retreat items this week, I came across this fabulous image that Nancy had at our Kansas retreat last March.  Was it really that long ago?  Nancy raises chickens and calls them her "girls", so I couldn't help but smile, thinking of her, as I colored this one up.

This was so fun to color!  I googled chickens to use as a guide, and used Zigs, water, and a brush.  I partial die cut at the top and bottom, and fussy cut the rest.

Supplies:
Dies: Spellbinder Nestabilities Label
Zigs:  Lt Gray, Blue Gray, Wine Red, Brown, Oatmeal, Midbrown, Beige, Mustard, Lemon Yellow, Colbalt Blue, Pale Green, Light Green, Turquoise Green
Other: Nuvo Drops Sugared Almond and Red Berries, scrap of light burlap, PP

These hens are going to go play over at the following challenges:

A Crumpled Piece of Tissue Paper

During our retreat last week, Anita showed us how to make make a background using Distress Ink and tissue paper.  Basically, you put ink on a craft mat, mist it, set a piece of gift tissue on it, pull it off, and let it dry.  Then you crumple up the tissue, flatten it out and scrunch it onto a piece of cardstock layered in glue.  Okay, fine, no biggie, but then the magic happens:  lightly dab VersaMark over the crinkles and heat emboss - WOW!  I'll be doing this again!

While on the retreat I made a total of ZERO cards, lol!  So now I'm putting together cards from the different things we made.
I heat embossed the sentiment to match the veining.  The die cut was heat embossed several times to look like a piece of metal.  I think it looks like shaped wire.  The pictures just don't do it justice, but here's a close-up:
Supplies:
Stamps:  SSS You Matter
Dies:  SSS You, MFT Stitched Square Frames
Other:  Tissue paper, white cs, SSS Ultra Fine Silver embossing powder, VersaMark, Distress Inks (I don't remember what combination I used).

More Harvest Mice

Recently, I had the most amazing opportunity to meet up with blogging friends mostly from here in the Mid-West.  We had some little boxes of chocolates from my home town as table favors, and I wanted to make a tag to put on them.  How fun to make tags for crafty friends who will actually appreciate them!
The guest's names were written on the orange banners after I took these photos.  Here's how one looks on the box of chocolates:
Here's that fabulous crew of ladies:
Front Row: Kelly and Anita
Middle Row:  Darnell, Bobby, Michele, Marcia, and Bev
Back Row: Sue and Me

I photographed each one, if you're interested:

Twofer Card Challenge #10 Harvest

Harvest is the theme for the Twofer Card Challenge this month.  My harvest image of choice was a small pumpkin (actually two) from one of my favorite MFT Birdie Brown stamp sets of all time:  Harvest Mouse.

I created this card first and thankfully I had some of the images already colored, cut, and ready to go!  The images are set on a die cut background of water color card stock that was ink blended with Distress Oxides.

This second card is a conglomeration of four different patterned paper pads.  It was fun to see them all play so nicely together.  The pumpkins were colored with Copics and a bit of Copic shadow was colored under the pumpkins.
Supplies:
Stamps:  MFT Harvest Mouse
Dies:  MFT Horizontal Collage Cover, Big Thanks
Paper:  MME Indie Chic "Saffron", Kaiser Craft Lush Collection, Momenta, Basic Grey Out of Print, PTI Ocean Tides, watercolor paper
Copics:  Pumpkin Thanks card:  W00,0,1,2,3, E 19, 41,43, YR02, 18, 61, 65, YG 61,63, I lost track of all the Copics I used on the first card, sorry!
Inks: Distress Oxides Wild Honey, Fired Brick, Iced Spruce, Memento Tuxedo Black, VersaMark,
Other:  SSS Fine Detail white embossing powder

I hope you will join us this month at the Twofer Card Challenge!  Our special guests Lindby and Liz, have wonderful cards to share, so please head over to the Twofer blog to see their inspirations as well as the rest of the team's.

My thank you card is happy to play over at Double D Challenges; Scarecrows/Pumpkins Mood Board.

A Bathtub Pop-Up

After a long, uphill struggle:
 It's time to relax!

I think the girl looks a little too serene during her climb up the hill.  Maybe I should stamp some sweat coming off her forehead!
The front panel is all die cuts and Distress Ink with the exception of the girl and her bike which were colored with Copics.  I masked and DI'd the insides of the wheels to match the bg.  The sentiment was computer generated and die cut with the banner from the box pop-up set.  The inside pieces are all colored with Copics and a bit of white gel pen.

Rub a Dub Dub is my new and the bathing beauty from Mermaid for You and the Mountain Border are old (if May of 2016 is old).  Frankly, most of Lawn Fawn products are new to me and are so much fun to mix and match!

This card is also traveling over to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Pop It Up and they are featuring Lawn Fawn Products!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Fawn Fawn Rub a Dub Dub, Bicycle Built for You, Mermaid for You (bather)
Dies:  Lawn Fawn Mini Pop-Up Box (also for the banner), Road Border, Stitched Mountain Borders, Forest Border, Treat Box Add-On Spring House (flowers)
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, DI Evergreen Bough, Pine Needles, Mowed Lawn, Stormy Sky, Hickory Smoke, Tumbled Glass, Antique Linen, Frayed Burlap, Shabby Shutters, Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey

Twofer Card Challenge #9: Leaves

Hey everyone, it's time for a Twofer!  September's prompt at the Twofer Card Challenge is leaves so my cards feature an older die, Verona Flourish, by Poppystamps.
The leaves on the first card were die cut from water color paper painted with Brusho powders.
The leaves on the second card were die cut from PTI colored card stock.  I originally water colored the houses with Kuretaki watercolors but they were too bright so I inked everything over with DI Fossilized Amber turning reds to orange and aqua to green.  A bit of DI Gathered Twigs was also added.  The leaves got a dose of Fossilized Amber as well.
Supplies:
Stamps:  SSS Tilted Banner Sayings
Dies:  Poppystamps Verona Flourish, Vincent House, Clovis House, Stitched Main Street Tags, PTI Scripted die, MFT Blueprint 26
Paper:  PTI Royal Velvet, Amethyst Allure, Ripe Avocado, Spring Moss, Lemon Tart, Dark Chocolate, Ocean Tides, Terracotta Tile,
Ink:  Memento Rich Cocoa, DI Fossilized Amber, Gathered Twigs, Tea Dye, Brusho Purple, Scarlet, Brilliant Red, Kuretaki Water Colors

Our special guests this month are Linda (Scrappin', Stampin', & Singin'), and Susan (Cat's Inkcorporated)  Please head over to the Twofer Card Challenge blog to see the amazing inspiration from them and the rest of the team!
